If you are wondering why people were so hyped about Cyberpunk Edgerunners, the first one was Trigger Studio being behind it and the second one ? This, because it gave people a tasting of how fucking cool cyberpunk was and still is as an anime genre.

Pretty cool animation, and super awesome idea. It has the feeling of those slap competitions, but taken to the extreme. Love the detail in the characters, and you/the team stayed on-model for a lot of the action sequences, which I can appreciate with a style like this. Great job once again!

Really cool idea with some good execution, some of the animation choices really take me out of the moment, like the mouth warp for the antagonists expression around 2:27 just really distracted me, as well as some of the sliding animation for the guns. But thats only because the hand drawn animation looks so nice, it really makes the shortcuts more obvious. That said, the comic panels used in action is one of the coolest things I've seen
Most of those choices are just due to budget constraints. On these scale projects you just cant afford to hand animate every shot, hence some of the static characters and odd warping shot. If we have maybe 3x the budget, every shot and character could be hand animated, but we did our best with the constraints we had, and chose the shots we thought needed the most work to dedicate the budget we had to.
Ok fine, ill buy the comic, this is too epic 😂
