how do you run the light wires if you don't have continuous cabinets, i.e. a window interrupting your cabinets?

Is there any delay turning on these lights? We have ours plugged into an outlet controlled by a switch and there's an annoying two second delay turning them on
I installed some LED strip lights in my home in Costa Rica. They are plug-in transformers, all plugged into switched receptacles, 3 in total to do the entire L-shaped sections of cabinets. All the same brand, purchased the same time, yet the middle section also has that annoying delay! I've accepted the annoyance, but you could try changing the transformer / driver that is acting in this manner?

I use these lights all the time on my media walls, recently on the lower brightness they start to flicker? Any ideas? They are run off plugs rather than hard wired. Seems if I connect just 3 rather than 6 it stops flickering 🤔

Hi Terry, I have hardwired low voltage halogen puck lights under my kitchen cabinets. Is it possible to change those out to led utilizing the existing wiring?
It should be Frank, just have to make sure all the existing wiring meets the voltage ratings of the LED system that you choose. I would need more information to advise with confidence. You could send me an email at: terry@electrical-online.com
I have two sets of cabinets separated by a pantry. Each set of cabinets has an electrical outlet along the top edge. The outlets were put there anticipating the future installation of lights along the top of the cabinets. So that I do not have to run wires through the pantry, I am think of using two sets of the AIBOO lights. My question is this, will a single remote control both sets of the AIBOO puck lights? If so, this would provide the appearance of a single system of lights.

i would have put the junction box in the top of the lower cabinets. No space taken up.

Is this temporary? Would have looked much cleaner if you had run the wiring through the inside of the cabinets and poked out through the bottom at each light. I definitely don't want to see those wires
are PUCK lights any better or worse that the STRIP lights? The differences?

Is there a reason for not using a double gang old work box instead of two single gang boxes?
No, just less change of having drywall patching to contend with by doing what I did. Either way would have been fine.

I ordered some puck lights with aluminum instead or copper wiring by accident. Look out. Aluminum isn't as good a conductor. I'll still use them because I'm running less than 12v dc.
It should be OK if you're careful with your connections. Are the light fixtures approved?

Yes, you can use the adhesive tape provided, or fasten them with short wood screws, or both. I never have much luck with adhesive tape alone so I did both.

This was from Legrand. Cord cover / cord hider, or any surface-run wireway system will do.
great job...I wish I knew the 'electrical jargon' you were using,,,I am in market for under cabinet lights, I do have existing halogen puck lights that I want to replace. Currently, I use on/off switch to turn these light on or off. Do you think I can use same switch to control my new LED puck lights?
Only in Canada do you have a 1:30 min bit about permits, permission, inspections and fees.

I have a switch that controls a single exterior light in my courtyard. I’m looking to replace the existing light with two led (Lowe’s item number: 1238472) canless downlights. I’m also looking to install between both new lights a ceiling fan that does not have a light fixture.
How would I go about wiring the fan (constant hot) so it operates by chain and the new lights remain controlled by existing switch. All shared power from same source.

Well that depends on how the cables are pulled in that circuit. Give me the details of what cables and splices are in the switch box, and the light outlets and I'll be able to tell you if this is going to be possible without fishing new cables in.

Turned out nice but it looks like you damaged the paper laminate when you drill though the bottom. Now, about that permit thing... where I live, that's called paying more taxes. What is the fine for getting caught upgrading your house without this permit thingy?
$100 for a set of $79 puck lights, and then recommending a contractor installation? This is exactly why we DIY.

I know that there is legal reasons for getting a permit. But I just find it hilarious. Changing a light switch? Electrical permit. Changing a lighting fixture? Electrical permit. Nothing says “don’t fix anything” like charging home owners money to update their homes. Legal? Sure, ridiculous? Absolutely. xD
The rule of thumb, if it is a replacement in kind, (changing a light switch or a receptacle, etc) then no permit is required. Any additions to the electrical system technically needs a permit in most jurisdictions. Does it always happen? I'd say maybe 5% of the time?

I was uncomfortable of you chopping 1/3 so off the 2x4. I’m never sure if that is an important stud or not. So I always assume that it’s important. You were unsure of the stud. Never saw the insulation of the pucks. Never understood why the boxes weren’t positioned up top instead of taking up space in the cabinet. You could have used the box the the microwave is on. That would eliminate a box . This is the only video I’ve watched of your projects. So we’ll see a few more before I decide to hit that subscribe button.
