Chynna, I have said this before. You are a very gifted interviewer and listener.
This is an amazing interview. I first heard "California Dreamin'" in the spring of 1966, when I was a senior in high school, and raced out and bought "If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears." As a native Californian, I knew the song was special and this group was unique. Fast forward six years to 1972, and I was living in the Virgin Islands in the same 300 year old stone cottage on the property where the Mamas and the Papas had lived seven and a half years earlier, before they had the name and the fame. Your videos and stories of your life have helped me so much and I applaud your honesty, warmth, and kindness. Thank you so much, Chynna, for sharing your spiritual journey with us. It is also great to meet Owen and hear her story. Thank you both!

This just showed up on my YT home page. What an amazing interview and so interesting! For a split second, as the vid started and before I saw Owen's face, I heard her voice and she sounds JUST like her Mom! Tripped me out!

Wow, what a Wonderful episode, Cass was such a powerhouse- her daughter is such a sweet soul- I still listen to the Mommas & Papas, something about the way their voices blended together, their songs & you couldn’t take your eyes off them- Chynna , love your vibe here- I find that your beautiful momma Michele has something in common with the actress Ellen burston - I just know whatever it is - I love both of them❤️ this was a beautiful tribute to Cass & Can’t you just see her smiling about it❤️🙏🏼

Hello Chyna, This video just randomly ahowed up in YT's suggestions of something I might like to watch and I'm so glad it did. I was born in '65, so I missed the Mamas & the Papas when they were at their career peak but learned to appreciate them years later through YT videos. I always thought Cass came across like a super nice person, like someone who would be fun to hang out with. I'm delighted that you had her daughter in this video and got to see her and listen to her tell the story from her perspective. I hope she is well and has healed from her challenging start in life. Thanks so much for giving her a voice through your video.

I loved this, I have seen Owen on other interviews, she emanates love, you can see it deep inside her, but seems very reserved. How would you compare her personality to Cass?
Cass was a consummate professional when she sang, and a cd of a venue live I have had her audience in the palm of her hand. Made just before she died ❤️

I was enchanted with the beautiful and witty Cass Elliot as a child in the 60's and early 70's. People were naturally attracted to such a good soul who brought a smile to every face. I never got over her loss as a child. God bless Owen and those who were impacted so much more than I.

I used to tend bar and the owner trusted me to fill the jukebox. I came back with all kinds of 45's from the '60s and '70s which one was, of course, California Dreamin. That song got played every single night. I'm glad you two have one another. Owen, I can't say I can imagine what it was like to grow up without your mother. I can say I grew up without a father and it was a disappointment to see him after so many years. You sure turned out beautiful and have a very cool way about you. I would love to call you friend!

Mama & Papas was my first concert as a baby at Stone Mountain Park, my mom says my grandma got up & danced that day which she never did ☺️💖 thx for the memories!
Love love this interview. Dream a Little Dream of Me was one of my Mother’s favorite songs. She would play it over and over again singing along. I was very young and that’s one of my fond memories of her.

I knew for decades that it was a heart attack because of her yo-yo dieting. But it is so well known the false facts is that even school kids knew about the ham sandwich story. But that was amazing because that was the days before the Internet and word of mouth was the only way to get it across
