One of the lesser talked about features is the built-in noise gate. Through the Insider software, you can choose low, high, or off. It is great for using with high gain & distortion to cut the noise.
I don't have a Mac or PC, so I purchased the Blackstar ID Core Stereo 40W WOW! The Blackstar amp is Outstanding, especially at only £60.00 mint Condition Including delivery I'm so happy thanks Jack and Blackstar no more buying Marshall Blackstar from now on I'm Converted! 🤘🤙👍😉
Sweetwater : I just order this same Blackstar amp two day from Sweetwater I can't wait to see what it sounds like it's going to be great I know it is Sweetwater y'all are the best thanks . Troy Frost troyster 😎Cool Riffs
For me, it's a tossup between this and the Boss Katana 50. Do you recommend one over the other? I'm looking to emulate a nice slapback sound for rockabilly.
i have this same amp only on v1 (wich is the same considering this video) and i woudnt recomend it if you want to play clean with a band , the dirty channels are ok, the katana sounds much louder (it has a 12 inch spkr) , i would recommend the katana.
Hey, Velocity! Thanks for reaching out. The FS-10 is not compatible with Core series amps. You will need the FS-11 controller. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions and I'm happy to help. Connor Smith, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1793, connor_smith@sweetwater.com
Personal is as follows ... I am thinking of buying an amplifier I am researching and analyzed some. I like British rock, Oasis type, Beatles, rolling stones and some American bands. Do not cut heavy metal! Just classic rock !! The most interesting ones were the fender champion 40, orange ldx 35 and lastly Blackstar ID: Core 40 Orange for lack of product and high price discarded !! So now I'm undecided between the fender champion 40 and the Blackstar ID: Core 40 (I'm not interested in valves) !!! The latter called me attention because it has a device that leaves with American sound (imitating a fender) or English, which I find super interesting What I did not like is that it has no knobs to adjust the bass, (more can be adjusted by the black star software! The Black Star is a little more expensive than the fender! What do you guys think ??
I want to buy practice amp w/ budget 200$, im really confused which one to buy, Blackstar ID core 40 v2 or Line 6 Spider V 30 ? Can you guys give your opinion please 😁
Hello! At 40 watts, the Blackstar ID:Core 40 V2 Combo will likely be loud enough to serve the purpose of playing/practicing with a full band. For stage use, or to be sure to have enough power to play over drums/bass/etc… I might recommend stepping up to the 100w version. I hope that's useful. Thanks so much for your interest! Did Blackstar fix the 'bricked' disaster with their ID:Core series on this V2? I'm considering buying one of these but I've heard a lot of nightmarish stories about the firmware updates killing the amp rendering it completely dead, and Blackstar denying it - ignoring the customers. www.blackstaramps.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5194 www.blackstaramps.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5845
Im in the same position. My 50w katana packed in after 6 months so I'm looking for a replacement. The 40w caught my eye but I keep hearing horror stories of it being bricked after firmware updates. I don't fancy having to get a third replacement amp!!
How to repair if its dead... ic problem or maybe no power supply... Everey body talking its great bla bla blaaa.... but what if it gets problem... should review on that too....
Don't worry. I would love to buy and amp LIKE it, if it had the proper features and was built correctly. These manufactures just make what they want to make not what guitar players use and need. No other industry I know of has all it's companies run by idiots. It's the only industry I know of where the users have to suffer the manufacturers. Peavey is an exception, but even they have left the farm the past 20 years. But they addressed the working musician like no other company ever in the 70s, 80s and 90s, IMHO. Hartley Peavey represents the gold standard. The Peavey Nano is 90% there when it comes to this type of amp. It just needs to be bigger, louder. It is too small to be of use to me.
MrJoeyBoombotz You're jaded and insane. These are fantastic amps, the Boss Katana is a fantastic amp, the Vox Valvetronix are awesome at the same price point
I have a Fender Mustang II, Katana 50, ID Core 40 V2 and THR10. Mustang is poorest for metal but not terrible either; however, it's supreme for bluesy sounds and has such quality features that's missing from the other big 2. Only the Mustang and THR can properly adjust the volumes of your MP3 inputs to desired levels, the Core has a poor tuning feature and the Katana has none. The Core constantly hisses and you cannot dial the sound that you want with its single tone/base control - how about not being tight-arsed and fit two extra pots! When you up the volume on your MP3 player on some songs, the Core starts clipping! The katana stupidly has its headphone and MP3 jacks at the rear of the unit - omg! The katana really becomes both edgy and syrupy sweet at very high notes during lead breaks - wonderful but not that great at all when trying to dial in some blues tones - I just cannot warm to it (sorry). THR is great but the tiny speakers become harsh to the senses after a while, which is confirmed as soon as you go back to the warm sounding mustang. I have had the K for 4 months and the ID for 3 weeks - both are going to be sold. I may consider a Stang III due to its digital display :) Anyway, each to their own and I suggest really trying them out in the stores and then walk away and sleep on it - if you have to convince yourself it's a good amp, then it will be a mistake! Cheers
Good info tx. I had a "Stang 3" and its clean was what grabbed me...really "Fendery". I sold it though due to how complicated it was to adjust anything. That screen represented mental frustration.
yo im watching this high, just bought this, i cannot concentrate, dis dude mad funny
Best demo on this amp I've seen thus far! Informative and funny 😂 well done squire!
i like this guy. very down to earth, funny, and informative. i've had the amp for a while and i didn't even know it did some things he said.
This is an awesome demo video!
Y'all did miss a chance to say about the ISF: left is burger, right is tea & biscuits
Thanks Just today I ordered this Amp...Blackstar ID core 40... Thanks for the review demo...
Great sound and a bunch of different things to tweak to get the sounds you want. I’m going to guitar center now to pick it up
Great review and thanks! I just ordered this as my first amp!
Me too.

The mighty Nick Bowcott of Grim Reaper! One of my fav NWOBHM bands! Great review! Ten extra points for the Lemmy t-shirt!
Best review of this amp..!!!!

Just purchased v2 of id core 40 .. and have line 6 podhd 300 .... how to make better use of both
Abhimanue Chhetri Wondering have you figured it out? I have a pod hd 500 ,considering buy this amp
@@foreverSylosis777 itll work. But since theres no FX loop you should set the signal to be flat and dry. So you can put it through the front end
How did you set the 80s sound thanks
Thanks for all. What are the differences between v1 and brand new one? And what an amazing playing was that! ;)
How does it sound at lower volumes?
is fs-10 foot controller compatible with this amp?

Wonder if you can upgrade the software/firmware of the 40 head to v2?
How do I connect my processor to it?

What's the point in to make an stereo amp that small? How you gonna get that wide sound?
Its not the wideness youre looking for, stereo is stereo.
You peel the Sticker off, above the Knobs etc Just a heads up! 🤔😂 LOL
theres a bald guy working in a shed. -- brilliant @ 4:15
i tried one a couple weeks ago and i found the amp too dark sound...needs a 3 band eq urgent !!
woah, a left handed guitarist.
Two 6.5" speakers is the equivalent of about a single 9.2" speaker.

No mention of sealed or ported cabinet. How about focusing on telling us the RELEVANT information?
