    One day we'll get to hear the story about the day Pete the Greek asked John Danaher, "Why would you ignore 5% of the human body?"

    Loved the Beauty in the simplicity…my father taught me about pressure and that “it’s not about how much pressure it’s all about manipulating the joint at the right angle”

    What I love the most is that "letsos" in Greek slang is used for someone who is "dirty" and wristlocks are seen as "dirty" (but are awesome). 😁🇬🇷🤙🏻

      Yup. But he doesn’t train them to a whole class with newer students. I trained for over a year before he even started showing me some stuff. And it was mostly self defense wrist locks.

    RIP GrandMaster Osvaldo Alves. By the way I had seen another Pete/Bernardo wristlock vid which was full of Bernardo's grimaces of pain. I love how he procured another victim this time. That just goes to show how powerful these are.

    **Random wrist lock question:**
    Ibjjf states wrist locks as illegal at white belt. Is the wrist lock position as a whole illegal, or is the finish via wrist lock illegal? I am wondering if this can be used as a set up to advance to other positions (as long as it’s not finished) for white belts.

      @chaosisfun7789 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is probably, most likely going to end up being up to the discretion of the referee. A ref being super vigilant might catch it while it's being used to set up something else and say you were trying to submit with it and DQ you. You can't really argue with a ref or call an instant replay either. Or a ref might be relaxed or not even notice and let it go on.

      @@chaosisfun7789 ah makes sense! So I guess the best thing would be to just avoid them in those situations haha. Thanks!

    I’m 60, white belt after 11 months at a Gracie school. This is super helpful but I don’t know that many guys want to drill this, mostly afraid of injury ???

    A lot of cool stuff. But I felt video is a bit unstructured. It would be nice if Pete will show two - three techniques wihtout jumping from one technique to another. But anyway the wristlocks looks nice
