Hello, I am totally new to Maya and I can't make a single 3d model before I watch your video. I am working on a can model practice by following your video step by step, and I made it! Thank you so much for making tutorials. I am looking forward to learning more from you.
I got a young'un that I'm taking through a trial by fire as he needs to level up fast and your stuff is what I'm giving him to watch and read while I'll be away for a spell. It's not just your skills but your energy that makes each of your vids top notch.
Dude, you're a legend! im a newly hired inexperienced 3d modeler in a furniture company. And you're tutorials has helped me a lot in my projects. More power to you sir!
@@jlmussi Shoot If I were you I'd try putting together a couple of courses on Things like Skillshare, Lynda, and Udemy. Keep the comedian thing but at least you can edumacate the masses at the same time.
Man, I love your intros. Thank you for your tutorials, I picked up quite a few cool tricks from you, even tho I'm working in maya for some time already
For a second I was like: Please no, I just found this brilliant channel ; ; but then you had me. Thanks for all your hard work, I certainly appreciate all your content since finding out about it!
dude if you made a tutorial for making modular assets in maya i would love you forever! also great job on the videos I learn so much from each one you make. much love :))
Great tutorial model with the specific builds and going through different tools for the same result. I’ve been looking high and low for stuff like this. You really seem at home in your software! Thanks for your hard work - quality stuff!
Looks good. However I noticed some parts where you could have done things a bit faster and easier. At around 10:47 when you move verts sideways to align them you could have used vert snapping. Vert snapping does work with single axis movement. So it will snap the verts you are moving just on the selected axis to the verts you hover your mouse over. That method would give you the same result, but faster.
Great video as usual friend! If you use the old school insert edge loop tool instead of quick cut version, there is equal distance from edge and relative distance from edge options that you can play with to help with the edges smoothing out uneven like you were talking about at 11.30 in the video.
I'm a first year modelling uni student. Our lecturer sent us to your channel and I have to say it's been the most helpful resource. Just wondering, do you have any clean up videos for non-planar faces? And how do you fix that puckering to get nice smooth surfaces. I have created subdivisions but it's still not as smooth as I'd like it.
best way to attract an audience to stay and keep watching is to sometimes make hilarious intro, which you did. Good luck & hope WE, your subscribers, get bigger and bigger ;)
JL, can I send you an OBJ and a few reference pics? I am stuck on a build and I think you could handle this one easily. I could really use the help / advice.
need help, everytime i snap the face's pivot to a vertex just like what u did to be precise on how far you'd extrude, everything merges to center when i starts to move it after moving the pivot to the vertex, i seriously need help. Tnx a lot in advance if anyone will answer!!
Hello sir, im trying to learn how to do hard surface modeling but I'm still confused about pressing '3' preview smooth on when to use it . From what i understand is that "preview smooth" is only a preview base on its name..what do i do next after i complete my model and satisfied with the result while looking at preview smooth, cause if I remove the preview smooth it goes back to hard edge..in all my past models ive only been using "mesh diplay>smooth/harden edge" after UV then export it to SP..how can i actually use the result of preview smooth to my actual model . pls help
I would like to learn how to creates sci Di desings. Not Just tools and buttons, what should i do to make sci Di objects without concept. You know like freestyle Hard surface modeling. I Just cant imagineng such cool things and my head. All i can do is repeat already created drawing and other. It pissing me of so much. I also want to get that cool ideas
I was follow your cheat sheet link but I did not receive any mail and I have checked also promo. Could you send download link your cheat sheet file? Thanks..... Jk
Awesome stuff. Been watching your stuff and one thing I noticed is I personally feel like you don't have to project your voice as much and can just talk a bit more casually, not that I don't like hearing you clearly, but it is a bit more intense that I think is required for a modelling video haha.
Seeing this, as a Blender user, other than the fact that your viewport rendering seems a bit ugly, there’s no much difference in one’s workflow doing this sort of thing.
LOL...who started this format of youtube comments where you have to hit click more to get the punchline to the joke. Pretty creative. Anyways thanks for you support.

Freestyle modeling is possible but if you really need to explore concepts and forms, you're better using off a package like Z brush vs Maya.
Dude your soo corny but you are a beast at modeling 😎😂😂
Haha nice intro 🤣
