    Thx for the video. I heard of but have not seen the money train. And i remember the vibe of MTR in 1990s, good old days.

    How is it possible to feel nostalgic towards an era before you were born? 🥲

      OMG! I lived it! I was a little boy in the 90s visiting HK and remember riding the old M train with my mom. I was so fascinated with it that I wish my mom could take me more rides on it. I lived in Texas, USA, where I don't have the privilege of being in HK daily. I only went there to visit my grandmother living Kowloon Bay. Even to this day as a 35 year old man, I long to have the M train back again. Although, its still around in the new modernised version, I still believe its still with me. 4:09 Before the inside cab TV monitors of watching the passengers crossing into the train. 6:14 seeing how the train snakes its way into HK is something that brings back memories!

      I ride the refurbished M trains almost daily, unfortunately they don't have much time left.

      The new Q-trains will start running on my local line next week. If you want to see the M trains you gotta be quick, they will be fully replaced very soon.

    This is MTR, not KCR; KCR used to operate the current East Rail Line and Tuen Ma Line until the Rail Merger with the MTR. The line here is the Tsuen Wan Line which was operated by the MTR ever since its opening being the original MTR lines.

    This is the MTR network, not KCR
    KCR network only count from Kowloon Canton Railway British Section Which is operate by KCRC
    Your video showing are operate by Mass Transit Railway company MTRC.not KCRC
    before merge in 2007
    Both system and company are separated.
    MTRC operate underground/metro Railway.
    KCRC only operates the national railway service/Intercity and light rail.
    that means your video title is totally wrong

      For you be easier understanding.I try using german terms.
      MTR Network is U-Bahn.
      KCR network is DB ICE/Regio.?
      Its that clear?

      I found many different articles about this underground metro system, one of user from Great Britain, with a picture of day of roll out at Metro Cammell, who namend it KCR. Unfortunately I cannot understand or read the Chinese language or articles.
      Like always in history, mistakes are being repeated, if you didn’t understand the language.
      So far, as I know as able to research on the internet is the fact, that in English language you will find absolutely nothing about this money train, neither an information nor a photo! So far my video is unique - that’s most important!

    • @AAA839
      @AAA839 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @coronadojet I think it is a misunderstanding.
      Because both KCR and MTR had bought the train from Metro Cammell.
      But they are totally different.
      It just had a similar shape.
      BUT KCR rolling stock is run in AC and using lots of equipment derative from British Rail.
      It major usage is for the electrification of KCR network (This train got retire recently last year.)
      MTRC,On the other hang train carriage is new clean sheet design.It had influenced by London Tube Victoria Line
      .But it also had bogie from DUEWAG in Germany.
      Both train distinctive feature are
      MTRC train got had open gangway design.Automatic train operation,front emergency exit, and ramp and run in DC 1500 power
      It just paints in white color on the front.
      KCRC, on the other hand
      Train had narrow gangway door on each carriage.only threevpair of door on each side and run in AC 25kv power.Front painted in Yellow for visible reason.
      It can.maxium form in 12 car length
      Did you have any contact information.
      I could help you understand more.
      The money collector train is a different story.
      Both companies bought different types of locomotive for maintainece and engineering purposes.

    Is MTR but not KCR, please rename it

    • @coronadojet
      @coronadojet  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry, but you are wrong! KCR was due to merger with MTR renamed on April 11th 2006!
      On 11 April 2006, the Hong Kong Government officially announced the details of the proposed merger. Under the non-binding Memorandum of Understanding the Government has signed with KCRC, KCRC would grant a Service Concession to the MTRCL to operate the KCR system, with an initial period of 50 years. The KCRC would receive a one-time upfront payment of HK$4.25 billion, a fixed annual payment of HK$750 million and a variable annual payment based on revenues generated from operation of the KCR system. In addition, MTRCL would make a payment of $7.79 billion for the acquisition of property and other related commercial interests.
      The railway lines the KCRC operated were less profitable than the MTRC, and the KCRC was less active in property development. It was widely considered that the Government's choice was made to avoid being criticised for selling assets of the KCRC - which it wholly owned - to MTRCL at an underpriced level. Leasing the operation right of the KCR system to the MTRCL could avoid actually selling the KCRC.
