Peggy was originally intended to be the killer. With that in mind, this scene makes perfect sense. When she says 'you don't mess with me,' you see the bust of the Queen Vic (the murder weapon) in the background behind her. Perfect cinematography and foreshadowing. A shame they altered the killer, which diluted this scene.
That would’ve been a much better storyline. This along with her marriage with Eric, makes Peggy seem like all bark and no bite. If she did end up being Archie’s killer, it would’ve been a turning point for her character (putting an end to being trampled on by men).
No it wouldn’t of worked. I mean don’t forget Archie is also proper old East End and remove all the toxic complications they were perfect for each-other even in this scene their was still something there.

Archie may have been an evil villain but I don't think he was absent of humanity, I do believe deep down there was just enough humanity in him to be capable of genuine love and the scene shows that he was telling the truth about being in love with Peggy
Here in the US we're only up to the year 2007 on EastEnders. So we get to enjoy Peggy for another 9 years almost 👍. I never read or heard that she had Alzheimer's. It's too bad Pat couldn't slap it out of her, during one of their slap fights!! Barbara was one to be watched and makes EastEnders my Saturday morning go-to show every week. Godspeed Barbara!
@@mjl5777 we only get two episodes every Saturday morning on public TV. So we are literally 9 to 10 years behind the UK. Right now Minty and Gary's mom are on the verge of getting married, Ronnie and Jack are kind of dating but kind of not, Kevin Wicks died like four weeks ago, and one of the girls that hung out with Sonya back in the day just came back to the square , and is pursuing Ian!? She got pushed out of some cheap Mercedes in a stripper dress, and it took the whole episode to find out who she was and I can't even remember but she's got her radar set on Ian and his money for some reason God knows who the hell would want Ian!?? That's how far behind we are 😭😭
Are you sure your not in the year 2008 as Kevin Wicks died New Years Day 2008 and it was Claire Bates who returned for a while in 2008 as she was the girl who hung out with Sonia when they were kids and she did pursue Ian but was using him
It was talked about as they did fancy each other while she was married to his brother and it wasn’t a great marriage since he was a abuser and a cheater
