agreed man, The Downward Spiral and ITCOTCK are two of my favorite albums of all-time, I'd personally lean King Crimson but I don't fault at all the NIN choice
Fun fact: Adrian Belew from KC (joined in the 80s era) contributed various effects guitar to Downward Spiral (example being the ending of opener Mr Self Destruct)

Yea, he doesn't seem to be a big fan of Synchronicity or the band. The Police are very slept on in music discussion circles, i never see them mentioned, all 5 of their albums are great, especially their last 2. Their fusion of punk, new wave, reggae, etc was impressive idk why people dont give them props.

I love The Police but I think Synchronicity is overrated. Their first few albums are way better than their last two in my opinion. Reggatta de Blanc is incredible.

I am actually pleasantly content with TDS taking the crown. Really expected the safe pick with King Crimson. Which is also an all-time classic, BUT! TDS really is on that level and I will not hear out any objections.

@@gabrielbevis1961 As a fan of both, I'd give it to The Downward Spiral due to it being more cinematic. ITCOTCK is a great album, The Downward Spiral is almost like a movie.
@@J.PC.Designs I'll be honest. I like The Downward Spiral better, I just thought ITCOTCK is more historic. Personally though, The Fragile is my favorite album of Nine Inch Nails.

Larks tongue in aspic is their best album, fight me. Took me multiple listens to get into it but now when I want to hear one song I end up listening to the whole album. None of them miss. Red is S tier but I can't recall every track off the top of my head so imo it's probably their 2nd or 3rd best. Fripp himself said that Larks was the first album since ITCOTCK that he felt the "magic" of king crimson return and I'd have to agree with him
@@seanm241They're both really close for me but yeah I guess I agree Lark's is a bit better. Love all the lengthy improvs and unique atmosphere on that record. One thing I do prefer about Red is that it mixes more of their different eras with all the jazzy horn arrangements and the heavier rock sound while Lark's leans more specifically into that baroque, very classical and elegant style.
@seanm241 Larks is also incredible. The Fripp, Bruford, Wheton iteration of Crimson is my favorite. All three of the albums they did are killer. I prefer Red though. It always seemed the most focused, not as heavy or crazy as Larks, but more melodic. And the closer to Red, Starless, is just perfect.
@@kylewilloughby1983 I agree starless is a masterpiece, it's the second song I heard from the them and a big reason I got into the band. Guess I just like the more experimental sound of larks. So glad both exist tho I'm gonna give red another listen today

I'd agree that it is the best but my personal favourite is The News of the World. There's the hits obviously but I really love the songs All Dead, All Dead and Spread Your Wings. But Queen II has The March of the Black Queen, Father To Son, Seven Seas of Rhye, White Queen, and Ogre Battle. Goated ablum for sure.
