Peterbilt body panels are put on with steel Huck bolts. Panels need primer on them to eliminate corrosion between the steel Huck bolts and the aluminum panels. Worked on Pete's for 40 years . OEM Peterbilt panels come pre primed.
Part of the secret to polishing aluminum grilles, get aircraft stripper. Have you ever looked at a polished grill but you see a rainbow in the shine?, that's some coating on it. I get my aluminum polished in Grand Island Nebraska, at Peterbilt, and those guys got the rainbow out with aircraft stripper before polishing.
Happy NEW YEAR lads. Y'all were absent so long, I was afraid you might have turned your back on the old school and joined Swift, lmao. Great work young men.
Looks good boys thanks for the tip on the body part place need a lower cab panel for project Pete 362 I’m gonna see if they have it or can make it for me and as for polishing it’s just something you have to figure out what works for you there is no right wag to do it I’ve seen 2 different people get the same results doing the exact opposite of each other so keep at it saves a lot of money in the long run and oh hell yeah im waiting for flat glass w900 areodyne my only other dream truck other than my k100e
Glad to see you guys back in action working on this thing. The hood looks great and I'm sure a custom grille would really add a nice touch. Emory, Tripoli, white Rouge polish with flannel disks for your angle grinder is what you need. For the worse imperfections, start with a wet sand paper then go to the Emory. You'll see the majority of the work at thise stages. Yes, polishing is messy, but man is it rewarding. I have done many sets of two and three piece wheels and gotten professional results. If you leave the metal raw, you'll want a good sealant applied after. Check out Zoop Seal. It's what I use on the raw polished pieces to keep then looking fresh. Happy new years fellas!
I clicked on that website that you guys got the panels from for your Peterbilt. It sucks the website is horrible like it was made by a child. Do prices couple panels here and there it was black and white

Glad to see you guys posting videos again! Keep em coming!
