I suspect Boimler's change has more to do with him being inspired after meeting a better version of himself from the other universe, and growing the beard is an outward display of that. That being said, I think the finale WILL involve the crew from the parallel universe being the big bad guys, and Boimler's new look will help him to save the day by infiltrating the mirror universe crew.
Remember on Deep Space Nine how Martok hated Kor, Dahar master and the first Klingon we ever saw in Star Trek? Kor was once part of the same bureaucratic group that is in this episode and he kept Martok away from command the same way. Klingons could give pettiness and being vindictive lessons even to humans...
Theory: William Boimler is making the quantum fissures looking for a universe where Bradward is dead so he can take his place, because he either hates being in Section 31, or because he just wants "our" Boimler's life.
Ever since the novel series that followed the exploits of the crew of the I.K.S. Gorkon, I've imagined Klingon farmers finding personal honor in 'slaying' the weeds, with the equivalent of hoes. Fighting thise plants that would dare trying to take food from the plates of the citizens of the Empire...
That opening sequence is beautiful animation and the theme is great You don't always like Freeman but she is awesome in this. You do not mess with a member of her crew I actually think the the feed to the bear thing is something Mariner and Boimler may just have come up with in a go to move when convincing others to do something I love the last line of the show. One of my favorite end lines. If you know TOS
Absolutely it was beautiful. Totally as I always say, I react to what I see and she did well here so a good episode for her. Very likely. It was a great episode.
Here's another prediction about the quantum fissures: the cameos we are going to get from this storyline are going to be amazing. They've already revealed one cameo (in the second trailer), but I suspect this is the tip of the iceberg.
He’s there because they needed a therapist and Paul F Tompkins is a delight. (But also super busy which explains his sporadic appearances). But also look at Deanna’s first 4 seasons. He freakin amazing compared to that (Altho that’s the fault of them not knowing what to do with her other than “like Riker” and “gets visited by mom”)
Migleemo is the 'challenging alien' in Lower Decks. Classic Trek didn’t really have anyone alien other than Spock. His own equivalents were Arex, Data, Odo, Tuvok, T' Pol, and Shaxs. All 'aliens' that give the 'outside perspective' for human viewers. Migleemo is like a 'Neelix' that is more like a 'Dr. Phlox'. Not really a 'Worf', 'Dax', or a "B' Elanna" either. Annoying, but has a place like Troi or McCoy. We certainly couldn't leave that to T' Ana, could we?...
Okay, Boimler and Klingon culture. In season 3, episode 2 The Least Dangerous Game, the Lower Deckers are playing what is basically a Ferengi made Klingon D&D game. Out of the four, Bradward is the most into cosplaying a Warrior. There probably is something to the facial hair theory, but he was already predisposed towards acting out Klingon cultural events even before the first hairs appeared under his nose...
Absolutely and the episode ends with him suggesting he will be more forward etc. in that episode. However he has never until the fissure taken this approach to violence especially.
Thank you, yeah I realised, my software cut off audio a few weeks ago for no reason and since sorting it out, the balance has been off, please bare with me.
Wouldn't it be something if the other dimensional Boimler IS 'our' Boimler? Only older by just a little bit. His purposely leaving the PADD so his younger self can close the destiny loop and become that universe's Boimler. This would free up that one, who can finally come back to our Cerritos. Well? Sounds down right Whovian, doesn't it?...
The most likely reason they picked the name, in addition to what you said, is that birds, unlike most mammals, defecate, urinate, and 'engage in reproductive activities' from the same orifice...

It's possible, just the use of the pad and emulating him is interesting.
Don't you think Boimler's 'Yee!' energy feels a little like when he climbed on Pike's saddle and gave out with a 'Riker!'?...
True, still love that Frakes was on set for that! lol!

Oh they are pettiness kings lol!
The Klingon from this council was in season 1, the Klingon Boimler was supposed to meet
Aaaah yes
Theory: William Boimler is making the quantum fissures looking for a universe where Bradward is dead so he can take his place, because he either hates being in Section 31, or because he just wants "our" Boimler's life.
It wouldn't surprise me if he is the key, it would also play into my Boimler big bad thing.

I would love that idea, "I will see that slug in Sto-vo-kor!"

Oh yes, Harry is coming haha!
Ma' ah killed his own captain in the first place for dishonorably fighting the Federation through the Pakleds. I think he's right...
Exactly, a man of honour.

Get out of my head.
He may be but ..... lol!
Oh I agree however she was less grinding tbf.

I actually like Phlox and Neelix but true he is a seemingly non relatable element.

The winter excuses all lol!

Come back and take over the universe.....!
I was thinking Bradward resembled the original Magnum P.I.'s Tom Selleck...
Exactly....70s porn star! lol!

Oh I know that's why I found it....'interesting' lol!
