Mech Assault
I like strategy RPG mech games. I haven't played too many, but I like Super robot taisen on the gb, Front mission 1, and Xenogears. I want to know more strategy rpg mech games.

So you covered console games but not the PC ones which are much better over all in quality and content... big miss there... (the entire MW series, Heavy Gear, etc etc...)
Titanfall 2 had a great campaign story with some truly memorable level designs. Effect and Cause was insane
Protocol 3: Protect the Pilot.
SURELY there's enough APEX Legends money to squeak out a new entry. Won't take much
I'd say the mechs in Xenoblade Chronicles X are better than the ones in 3

yea going for 3 over X was weard, plus i diddnt think the oroboros forms were mechs i thought they were still orgnaic.
plus the skells were customiseable on their gear and just fun to go driving or skydiveing around it

Mech Assault is outshone by its sister games. Mechwarrior is essential (maybe Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries best represents), Mechcommander Gold is an incredible take on the property and Battletech is amazing.

Metal Fatigue is forgotten gem - assembling mechs with your manufactured parts... or scavenge some from your enemies and use against them
Titanfall 2 is a amazing with great solo story campaign and I like a 3rd but I guess we have to wait and see. Zone of the Enders 2 knocked me away back in the day with its graphics and so many enemies on screen with out slowdown at all.

I would put the Harebrained studios Battletech game, either Mechcommander game, any of the Mechwarrior games, and at least the first Battletech: Crescent Hawk game over the Mechassault games
My other favorites include the first two Heavy gear games, and the Metaltech franchise

YES! FC LAPD deserves at least an honorable mention in this list. The countless hours me and my brother spend on the demo alone... I loved that game so much!

What about Cyberbots? that counts as a good mech game.
It saddens me that with the technology that we have right now, we’re not taken advantage of this genre. Just imagine back then they did so much with so little! If you were to add the graphics, physics, and network connectivity that we have today and somehow cultivate what they were trying to make back then, and do today, needless to say how successful that would be. Here’s to hoping.

As a man of culture, I'd like to say that it is a travesty that Robot Alchemic Drive didn't at least get an honorable mention.

No MechWarrior games? You've got to be shltting me. Somehow I expected it though, the predicable omission of which was the only reason I watched this thing. Yeah, because obviously a platformer where the player's sprite could literally be anything is far more satisfying a mech experience than MechWarrior 3 or 5.
Where is Battletech? One of the best, if not the best, mech strategy games ever.

I don't think games with "mechs as a theme" really counts as mech games
I have an opinion about mech games..
One thing I like about Titanfall Mech battle is that your Robot actually feels BIG. You are as big the the building and you see pilots are actually small. The only thing I don't like is that the Robots are a bit slow compared to other Mech battle game out there like Armored Core or Mecha Break, which in my opinion is a bit realistic in a way because big chunks of metal that big are not even suppose to move that fast
Now I tried Armored Core, and man I loved it. Reminds me of the old Gundam games I played back in PS2 when I was a kid. But my critic about it is opposite to Titanfall. Your Mech does not feel like you are a big robot, and same goes to Mecha Break.
I believe it has something to do with the environment, If your Robot is as big as buildings it will feel like you are big. but if you're a big robot in an open space, you feel like you are not big at all.
Reminds me of the failure Skull Island Rise of Kong game, there are a lot of problem with that game but playing as Kong, you don't feel like a huge gorilla. He seems like a normal Gorilla in a jungle fighting other monsters. Trees are bigger than him, there's a vast area, you don't get the feeling that you are playing as a titan or a big creature/mech
I would have gone with Xenoblade X as the mechanic in thier are way more customizable and are true mechs as the Ouroboros forms are more ethereal. Also xenosaga has mechs in it that you get to use. There's also Damascus gear, another indie mech game. And trails of cold steel has mech combat. Yall complete forgot about Daemon x Machina

Never going to forget Titan Fall 2016 one of my most memorable game ever and today titan fall is the biggest reason why I am still playing Apex Legends and Thier background story was really satisfying and I have been playing Apex legends for 5 years since season 3 release
Titan Fall 3 and Zone of the Enders 3 would of been shining diamonds if they would of gotten made... 💯

If you were going to pick an AC PS2 game, Silent Line is waaaaay better. For Answer is, to date, the best one though.
Thought there would be transformers fall of CyberTron. That game was amazing.
Zone of the enders is the best but its hard to figure out some times n its one of the hardest games to come back to if you dont play even for a few days imo. But its still one of the best mech style games
Front Mission 3 (PSX). Best Mech game ever made with an amazing story and a virtual internet!! Nothing even comes close to this gem.

My favorite mech game (so far) is xenogears on ps1 that was my first console jrpg and one of the best

Titanfall was the best game i played the campaign was really good and the end was really epic and sad😭
The last Front Mission game came out in 2019 and it bombed hard: Left Alive. They turned it into a 3PS stealth game in which you never pilot a mech. Ugh.
Mech arena could have been a honorable mention, a red vs blue game with several mechs with unique ability’s and different stats. And the weapons you can upgrade to make 5em more powerful with different mechs having certain energy capacity that grows the higher rank it has which allows stronger weapons to be used. with pilots and implants to help boost your mech with some being amazing when paired with a mech and their damage specialty with the weapons in your mech. So yeah.

Everyone dont remember about "Iron Brigade", yes that isnt the best, but only a 3D tower defense game
But Titanfall did get a spinoff in the end of it, so kinda good ending

Man Titanfall 2 was so good it still angers me EA just sent that game out to die. Daemon x Machina was one of my first switch games and had me anticipating a new Armored Core game. So I’m ready for Armored Core 6

Zone of Enders 2 was not directed by Hideo Kojima, you should correct it on the video.
I think Omega Boost (1998) from the devs of Gran Turismo should have been included as it is a well made and quite unique for its time. Also I would have picked some other Armored Core than 2, maybe go with Last Raven or the new Fires of Rubicon.

I'm not sure how this list gets made and doesn't have MechWarrior on it. 2, 4, or even 5 belong on this list. I get you had MechAssault, but MechWarrior is the quintessential Mech simulator.

Already done. 1st one came out less than a year ago. Remake of the second one comes later this year if I remember correctly.

My number one is no secret because of my avatar pic. lol Xenogears is my favorite rpg with mechs. Front mission 3 would be my second choice.
Nice. After I played Xenogears I wanted to know more RPG mech games. I played Front mission 1 a long time ago and that was also great. I have tried Super Robot Taisen on the gb which was good. So that is another series to look into.
