I'm no expert but I would just start a new band. To tour as STP is silly. Nirvana without Cobain? Doors without JM? Beatles w/o JL? It doesn't work. It's just a business at that point.
I like it. My only complaint is how he step climbs into each key vocal note, delivering 2 notes when it should just be hitting the primarily note. “Going bli-hind, outta re-heach”. Sort of annoying. Maybe that’s overly critical.
for those of you who say he tries to sound to much like Scott, those songs have to be sung with a certain sound or it would change the energy of the song, jeff cant even dance and feel the music which he loves without being criticized, find your own style they say, really what the hell is he supposed to do?? you're doing FUCKING AWESOME JEFF GUTT.
STP started out as 4 talented musicians and together they created a unique brand. I feel this Jeff guy does a good job honoring that brand and gives fans what they expect. Scott is a tough act to follow (when he was in his prime) but unfortunately for everyone involved that was a long long time ago. I'm sure given the choice STP would have Scott as their singer performing to his maximum capability, that's not an option that's available. I would pay to see STP with this singer and Scott Weiland will always live in my memory is one of my favorite Rock frontman.
No one is going to be Scott Weiland but Gutt clearly does a very good job. How do you fill Weilands shoes? You just cant. This guy does the songs very well and as good a job as can be done overall. i'll be going to see them
Jeff does a great job!! I've seen him 3 times now perform and each time he gets better and better!! He has his own style but also has some of Scott's characteristics moves, etc, like you said @Peter Fuentes he has to in some ways to get the song sung across the way it needs to be sung. #JeffGutt is just learning his way and will figure it out! I will always miss seeing #ScottWeiland perform 😥 and he still is one of my favorite frontmen ever!! RIP!! But that is in the past..time to carry on and move forward..Life goes on! Rock on #STP!! So glad Robert, Dean and Eric decided to continue on playing and making music!!❤🤘🎵. I cant wait to see you in June in Raleigh when you play!!!

I’m so glad to see a great singer get to do what he clearly loves doing. Been following his career since the Dry Cell days. His band got stuck being labeled as linkin park, but the whole band had so much more in them. I can’t seem to find much on the other members, but there is a bit of almost poetic/tragic irony in that he replaced Chester as the lead singer. Keep doing your thing Jeff! Much love and respect man!
STP will always have a special place for me. First show I ever went to back in 2008. Scott was a site to see and something special to hear. Jeff is a perfect missing puzzle piece.

Jeff is fucking awesome. Haters gonna hate. I loved Scott and legit cried manly tears when he died, but Jeff is every bit the amazing singer and front man. I drove 8 hours to see them in Toronto a couple of weeks before this show, and it was worth it!!
Saw STP two years ago in Carolina Rebellion and Jeff killed it, he has given STP a new breath of life, the band sounds better now than they did before...

Was a BIG stp fan back in the day. And man, this new singer does the band justice. For sure! It's obvious the band still has it in them and so happy they're continuing the music.
I binged on nearly all of your videos on your previous channel. So glad you've continued on this new channel. No-one could ever top STP with Scott. That being said, I still love this band, and have the upmost respect for Jeff (This coming from someone who's favorite all-time front man is Weiland). Gutt gets a lot of negative feedback I just don't understand. He's a Scott Weiland fan as well. So when he sometimes does a few minor struts or moves the mic stand around like Scott, I see it as respect to Scott, and I like it. It keeps his memory alive in my opinion. And at times he even has a similar tone, which I think all true STP fans can respect. He's not trying to be Scott, but I believe he's keeping the excitement going as best as he can. I have nothing but respect for these musicians who will spend so much time on the road to entertain us. I missed out on seeing STP back in September, and really hope the next time they're within a few hours from me that I'm able to attend. I'm glad that I can watch full STP concert videos like this, in excellent quality, thanks to your channel. I just wanted to say *Thank* *You* for uploading these! I don't mind the way Jeff moves on stage, after all its the same music ..I'm pretty sure if you played that music for a lost tribe in the Amazon they'd move the same way. I'm also digging the way Leo has breathed new life into all the old songs with his saucy embellishments!
He gets better as the performance goes on lol and he does a good job channeling the energy of these songs! And the album is Great in my opinion! It’s a great time to be a STP fan and Rock fan! So much great Rock coming out of nowhere old and new bands it’s exciting and I feel another great era of Rock approaching on the Horizon ready to take its place back on top of the Music Thrown!
the major difference is jerry did most of the writing and tons of singing, so in wasnt that far off from there old sound. And duvall really brought his own style. This guy jeff is giving it his all but the problem is because he does sound a lot like scott (NOONE can match its impossible) its hard not to compare him as an inferior version.

Saw these guys in Juárez last year, I've been a fan of them since I was 5 years old or so, they totally blew my mind. I would've gone absolutely insane if Scott were on the vocals that night.
This is the best guy after Scott with STP.Very good choice I have to admit . I also have to admit that I never liked the guy from Linkin Park (RIP) and the guy they had before him . This guy respect the Weiland shoes and all the real fans appreciate that , Im sure.Congratrulations STP .

They're doing great!! I'm really happy they managed to find a guy like Jeff! Just wish they could play Plush in the ordinary way, it's the most powerfull song they have after all, at least for me. But well, congrats guys, I'm really happy for you all!
It seems a bit odd watching a replacement for SW, not merely replicating his sonic delivery, tonal tendancies, intonations & cadence. styles...but take it to the level of emulating many of Scott's physical mannerisms, moves, contortions & even more. It rwminds me of professional-level karaoke... At least Chester sang in honor of Weiland by adding very unique vocal stylings to ALL of the STP songs. Genuine, risky-taking originality brings something noticeably unique to their classic songs... Not just attempting to mimic the original writer/singer.
@@NazPhura2 I think Gutt does a real good job. Can you imagine trying to replace Weiland? Weiland was unique and immensely talented. I think Gutt does about as good a job as you can do and am not disappointed at all in his performances. I think he does the songs great and actually makes me appreciate how good Weiland was and again how do you fill Weilands shoes? You just cant but I think Gutt does as well as anyone ever will
Jeff is a great replacement singer compared to what STP had to work with before when Scott took a break to do his solo music, be with Velvet Revolver , Art of Anarchy and the Wildabouts. Now Scott is gone, let him RIP!! Jeff has some huge shoes to walk in, and he will always feel like he is in Scott's shadow if the fans do not lighten up!! During this concert, Jeff included the fans, and got down there with the fans...did he jump out there kiss women fans and be rowdy like Scott?..no. Butt he is a Scott Weiland/STP fan!!! This is a dream job for him, now he is rocking !! He is Doing Scott's lyrics justice!....Remember this... All the AIC fans hated Duvall at first(me glad AIC still going).....But he got down there with the fans and sang earnestly...and he sang his heart out to honor Layne!! He has a great voice, and he jams on the guitar He is a perfect fit!! AIC only has 2 surviving original members so we should be glad they're rocking on!! Be glad STP is still rocking on...the DeLeo brothers could have called it quits!!!!!

Scott was immensely talented with his own energy and personality. I will also say Scott's demons did end up breakinng up the band. Jeff sounds very similar to Scott while also being Sober. He has a really tough job so mad respect. He and William Duvall are in challenging positions replacing Layne and Scott

Thank you for sharing this - they look and sound fantastic! And then 35:50 wow, just wow! I picked up this CD because the DeLeo brothers deliver and this is no exception! If you aspire to play bass, then Robert is one heck of an act to follow. Fill up the low end without sounding busy (yet, your fingers are busy)... and nail those vocal harmonies - cheers!

When you've revised these songs over and over again to make sure you pull it off I reckon you may even subconsciously pull off a few moves that Scott did .I know I would just out of respect and that's what Jeff does and that's brilliant as an artist.

he's doing great! but I'm sorry Scott is irreplaceable..
It seems a bit odd watching a replacement for SW, not merely replicating his sonic delivery, tonal tendancies, intonations & cadence. styles...but take it to the level of emulating many of Scott's physical mannerisms, moves, contortions & even more. It rwminds me of professional-level karaoke... At least Chester sang in honor of Weiland by adding very unique vocal stylings to ALL of the STP songs. Genuine, risky-taking originality brings something noticeably unique to their classic songs... Not just attempting to mimic the original writer/singer.

@@NazPhura2 I think Gutt does a real good job. Can you imagine trying to replace Weiland? Weiland was unique and immensely talented. I think Gutt does about as good a job as you can do and am not disappointed at all in his performances. I think he does the songs great and actually makes me appreciate how good Weiland was and again how do you fill Weilands shoes? You just cant but I think Gutt does as well as anyone ever will
Jeff is a great replacement singer compared to what STP had to work with before when Scott took a break to do his solo music, be with Velvet Revolver , Art of Anarchy and the Wildabouts. Now Scott is gone, let him RIP!! Jeff has some huge shoes to walk in, and he will always feel like he is in Scott's shadow if the fans do not lighten up!! During this concert, Jeff included the fans, and got down there with the fans...did he jump out there kiss women fans and be rowdy like Scott?..no. Butt he is a Scott Weiland/STP fan!!! This is a dream job for him, now he is rocking !! He is Doing Scott's lyrics justice!....Remember this... All the AIC fans hated Duvall at first(me glad AIC still going).....But he got down there with the fans and sang earnestly...and he sang his heart out to honor Layne!! He has a great voice, and he jams on the guitar He is a perfect fit!! AIC only has 2 surviving original members so we should be glad they're rocking on!! Be glad STP is still rocking on...the DeLeo brothers could have called it quits!!!!!

Scott was immensely talented with his own energy and personality. I will also say Scott's demons did end up breakinng up the band. Jeff sounds very similar to Scott while also being Sober. He has a really tough job so mad respect. He and William Duvall are in challenging positions replacing Layne and Scott

Thank you for sharing this - they look and sound fantastic! And then 35:50 wow, just wow! I picked up this CD because the DeLeo brothers deliver and this is no exception! If you aspire to play bass, then Robert is one heck of an act to follow. Fill up the low end without sounding busy (yet, your fingers are busy)... and nail those vocal harmonies - cheers!
