yea like it would've been much more logical for him to just say "why the hell would i play a match against something that would ruthlessly steamroll me cause i'm only human". Like yea Magnus is for sure the best chess player humans know of, but the truth is that bots in these years are so good that nobody can even get close to beating one. Like the most recent version of stockfish would crush Magnus not cause he's a bad player, he's just too human.

It just takes 1 blunder. I am getting better at end games which helps with puzzles but not with some daily puzzles. Once solved click on analyze and you could be up by 4 points and still take 40 moves to win.

Nah, judging from what I've seen after watching all of his last streams in full, and based on past interviews and tweets, Magnus just low key despises some of the newer influx of casual players and the content creators that "lower themselves to that level" in order to cater to them. He's likely trained and smart enough to not take a public "gatekeeping" stance, especially since he saw what happened to the figures that did that in ~2020 and maybe "despises" is too powerful of a word, but it's obvious he's feeling defensive of his game/craft, and looks at it as if all these new people came and are dragging his game through the mud. His behaviour/natural reaction is considered pretty normal for people in his position.
Therefore him not playing Mittens has nothing to do with the bot, it's more about sending a message: "Hey, I don't like what you people are doing."
I only had a minor in psychology so take it with a grain of salt.

It's true that mittens is Martin's cat but it's power comes from watching Martin's children beat him over and over every night and in turn, Martin took his rage out on Mittens and mercilessly "beat' her every night and mittens knew the only way out of this nightmarish scenario was to master chess and destroy her opponents as bad as Martin destroyed her.

4:18 there's no real reason to worry aside the costs, the lasic is both hard to mess up and the equiptment is easy to use. It was discovered by taking the lenses out with your bare hands and using a grinding stone or a whittling knife to push the lens down into a good position, which are extremely rudimentary tools and yet it's still possible to do it with them. The machinery today is precise enough that you can use it to cut letters into a single strand of hair.
Lasik was grear, super fast super painless, they give you valium for the nerves. The sketchiest part that no one really warns you about though is you can literally smell the burning eyeball flesh from the laser.
It's not that we're bored of Mittens, it's we're not bored of the life you bring the stories of the chess games that mittens (and everyone else) plays. We'll keep clicking xD

I have been following your channel for less than a month, and I had no idea the world of chess was this amazing, my whole life I thought I was good at chess because I would beat everyone in middle school, recently I decided why not play some chess, and I cant' even get to ranks 700, I thought I was pretty good but next to actual people who play chess Im nothing, I hope to be good one day, learning a lot from your videos

In your case, it's probably that you haven't played chess in a long time, so you got very rusty. Same case with me way back, used to be the best player in high school and beat everyone. But then I stopped playing for 2 years because people at school made fun of me for being good at chess, and when I came back, I lost to someone that I used to consistently beat 100% before.
I couldn't even see things I used to see back then, and made very bad blunders when I came back after 2 years of not playing.
I've been going back to chess recently, but not playing against other players yet... just training myself on things I used to grasp 10 years ago before doing that.
Deep down we all know why he doesn't wanna play mittens ..

can we all agree that Magnus is scared of losing
LASIK surgery can be uncomfortable, but uncomfortable for a different reason than you may think. Depending on which type of surgery you get, it can be a bit different. My experience was a bladeless LASIK surgery where the laser creates a small flap on your cornea. This whole process is painless simply because of the numbing eyedrops they place in your eye which makes you feel basically nothing. They could press their finger into your eye and you would feel almost nothing. The uncomfortable part is the way they keep your eye open with the clamps. Perhaps this is something that is uncommon and I simply got unlucky, but that was the most painful. It's less about the laser or any of the actual surgery, but more about how they keep your eye open. They usually give you a light form of Xanax to help you calm down and the surgeon I visited keeps you quite comfortable during the whole process. I would fully recommend!
Afterwards, you have to upkeep your eyes by taking various eyedrops. Some sting, some are soothing. In my case, it was a little overwhelming. Though, this only lasts for a few months if I remember correctly. The only drops after the few months period you have to take are hydrating drops to keep your eyes from going dry (Trust me, you'll want them). You'll notice quickly the improvements in your eyes. Depending on your vision type, if you have any sort of astigmatism, it may not give you the best results (hence not 20/20 perfect). They will check on your eyes with appointments (For me it was 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year). It is a lot work for sure, and it isn't very cheap, but you only get one set of eyes! Not having to wear my glasses after 16+ years was very relieving! 😁(Especially after masks fogging them up lol)
