    I definitely remember the high pitched door closing chimes as well as the motor sounds of the 3K rail cars those days especially when I first moved to and lived in the area in late 1986 through early 1987

    I have video from the Metro on all the lines. A lot has changed throughout the years.

    this from 1991 the year I was born man I would be born later that same year I use to love catching the Washington Metro Train one these days wow 25 years ago so old but nice video and footage from Early 1990s love it gotta missed those years and days catching Yellow Line and Red Line that was good year but some say was crazy I don't believe that.

    OMG! I miss the old Metro -the colors, the smell, the sounds. I remember the door chimes you on the 1000s were identical to the NYCTA's R46s through R68As. The 1000s had a different sound than the 3000s & 4000s when accelerating. Now everything looks and sounds the same.

      Yes me too! I remember the high pitched door closing chimes on the Breda 2Ks & 3Ks back in those days

      @@CentralJerseyRailfan There was even complaints from residents about it who lived near tracks.
      This is due to their weight and propulsion systems.

      Were those cars refurbished? They sound like those 4000 series engine startup

      @@theplushydogo3295 or 3k series since they wasn't rehabbed yet. I believed they didn't get the exterior speakers until the late 1990s. The pre rehabbed 3ks have the same buzzing sound as the new 4ks do, but it is significantly more pronounced compared to the 4ks

      @@its-LuqmanVlogs or 3000 series prior to rehabbed. both the 3000 and 4000 series breda cars had the chopper control propulsion which give it the buzz when in motion. There is even a 2000 series in this video and it was shown on the lower level of Metro Center. Unlike the it's later cousins the 2ks had cam control propulsion, and it was silent like the pre rehabbed 1ks(not shown).

      Yes I did noticed that, but I don't think Metro started add Chain barriers until the 2000's came, as an person who rode Metro since the 90's

    1000 series sounds were annoying on the track. I prefer the 8000, 3000, and 7000 noise
