Very proud to hear them because not only are they bringing the best of the old back into focus, they are making their own unique sound too. But the cherry on top is listening to a Dublin accent be sung. Not pretending to be english, not singing in an american accent. Dublin all the way. Yes. I'm a dub Whoop!
Deego's supple harmonies just added the right amount of something. Love the sound of the birds behind Grian too....incredible stuff lads. This song is timeless, pure class.
Great song. Does imply that Grian's spent the wages of Dogrel on a way nicer gaff than the other lads though. Carlos and Deego seem to be living at opposite ends of the same static caravan/trailer.
I absolutely adore this song, fell in love with it over lockdown. It just does something to me! Just found this video, looks like a beautiful place to isolate Grian!
I still try to figure out which major leap they made form 'Dogrel' to 'Hero's Death'. The first was the best debut in years, the second is the best follow up in years. Simply great how they resisted to do anything but repetition.
Saw 'em in a small bar venue last year. Cracking set, great tense atmosphere. Admittedly, there weren't many slow numbers in the set. Not that I remember anyway. Would love to see the band again but don't suppose it'll be in 15x20 metre room!
I think after listening to this track. I may have felt or experienced a bit of contentment for the 1st time since I was a child or may dad passed away . Even the birds are singing along happily and merrily in the background
Such a beautiful voice (is he what they call a tenor?) on this lad! Whole band is amazing. Can't say: Best band in the world! because I haven't heard them all. But I'm sure these guys are in the Top Five! His voice makes me want to listen to this song again and again.
São os maiores.conseguem agradara um público vasto, São muito bons. É som com uma qualidade que eu já não pensava ouvir,e com a conjuntura real contra eles permanecem e continuam a fazer melhor e bem.lufada de ar fresco
This might be my favorite FDC song. This band has so, so much talent. And they have songs that I absolutely hate. But after "A Hero's Death" this might be the best. They are such an interesting band.
This is such a woeful song. I cant believe this band get the hype they do. Yes its nice that he sings in an Irish accent but try and stay in tune mate! Please no more 'Beach Boys' comparisons- Brian Wilson is a melodic genius whereas this sounds like a tuneless dirge the way the vocalist just follows the notes the whole way through with no real musical variation or compositional development and it feels like the life is being sucked out of you or the water slowly disappearing as you pull the plug out of the bath.
Do you not think an emotional reaction as visceral as the imagery of life being sucked out of you and the water slowly draining away is not worth credit? Isn’t music meant to give you that emotional reaction? Perhaps that even though you don’t like it, from a different perspective it’s exactly what makes it great 👍🏻
Mark Zuckerberg 2 no that was just my description despite your dramatic interpretation- there is nothing visceral or even interesting about this song at all.
Very proud to hear them because not only are they bringing the best of the old back into focus, they are making their own unique sound too. But the cherry on top is listening to a Dublin accent be sung. Not pretending to be english, not singing in an american accent.
Dublin all the way.
Yes. I'm a dub
Whoop!
Yeah glad they don't put on yank accent like many bands...
Its tough when most the popular bands have a certain accent. Singers pick up accents if they are heavily inspired by Americans or English.
❤❤❤❤❤
This song is so ethereal and full of simplistic beauty . Even the birds are singing along in joyful praise and happiness
What an unreal band
Is it too unreal for yaa??
I’d argue they’re too real

This is a beautiful song and river.
I wonder where it is! Does anybody know?
Deego's supple harmonies just added the right amount of something.

It really shows their talent and why they are so ahead of other bands!! Conor Deegan has a great voice to be fair!
This album has just eclipsed everything else I’m listening to at the moment.
This is my favourite track on 'A Hero's Death'.
Nice Beach Boys-vibed tune!
Great song. Does imply that Grian's spent the wages of Dogrel on a way nicer gaff than the other lads though. Carlos and Deego seem to be living at opposite ends of the same static caravan/trailer.
lol 🤣

no words to express how connected i feel to this song .
pure masterpiece
I feel such sorrow. But at the same time I feel grateful that something like this could make me feel so strongly. I love you.
52 years old this March...... I am loving this band ...... will i be like the oldest swinger in town at one of their gigs 🤔??

@@Outlanes That's great that your dad is still finding new music even after all this time. My dad is stuck in his ways lol

this song takes them in a great new direction. So good, trippy sounds from these talented blokes.
One of my favourite songs of theirs. It's so beautiful. This version is even more serene.
I still try to figure out which major leap they made form 'Dogrel' to 'Hero's Death'. The first was the best debut in years, the second is the best follow up in years. Simply great how they resisted to do anything but repetition.
And Skinty Fia is the perfect third album
