This is an online lecture delivered by Adil Najam at PIDE (Pakistan Institute of Development Economics). Adil has suggested 12 books containing inspiring ideas for the Policy Planners. The lecture starts with establishing the need.
Leaders read books; they search for new ideas. Followers read newspapers; look for trends. Losers read nothing; they already know everything.
Adil clarifies that this is not a list of his favourite books. It is a list of books that inspires ideas, even though he doesn't agree with all of these ideas.
These are also not the best books by these authors.
    Three propositions:-
    1. Ideas matter.
    2. Theory is not the opposite of Action.
    3. Those who do not read have no advantage over those who cannot.
