1972 Yamaha XS650

I bought this bike in the fall of 2019. It ran but was dirty, rusty, and needed some help. I completed a "light" restoration. Lots of new parts and cleaning/polishing. It runs great and is a real classic. My favorite year of the Yamaha 650's.

It is a beautiful example,but the colour scheme makes it a 1970 XS1,not a 1976/77, and XS1's were fitted with a drum front brake,and kickstart only,the XS2 had a disc front and electric start ,sorry to be pernickety about this. They were called XS1/XS2 in 🇦🇺

In NZ this was an XS2 colour in 72/73 then became the TX650 for 74 then went back to XS again about 75/76. I had an XS1B and a twin disc XS650D and a spoke wheel special (78 Japan) and 3 parts bikes. Then got an 850 commando had it 26 years now.

Yeah I had a xs650 parked next to a ninja and a built sportster. That was just the other bikes next to me. There were bikes up and down the street. My xs was the only one that got taken. This was in Portland
