- I've never seen the film but the soundtrack is good. The singer nails it here and the guitars are on the right side of insanity. I just stuck this up because Dean And Britta did a version of this great song (originally by Nico) and I couldnt see the Bettie Serveert version online
Bettie Serveert is an unappreciated genius. I love her voice and talent!!!

Bettie isn't a person, it's the name of the band.
Just saw the movie and fell in love with the song. I feel like Candy Darling, lighting a candle for both Valerie and Andy. Too lonely people surrounded by people who will never get them in a million years. They both just needed a friend.
Such a terrific ending to a great film .
@twotwokid - I quite like dylan but I think I prefer his songwriting to his performing, the covers are almost always better - not many artists you can say that about ! I thought that he'd written this specifically for nico but wikipedia tells me "Judy Collins released the first recording of the song on a 1965 single"

The best vocal for this song I have heard. It needs even more though. The line "C'mon give it to me! I'll keep it with mine." needs to have power in it. Not anger ... but pleading for a chance to help. "C'mon TRUST ME. I'd die for you!!!" Make the audience feel that. If you don't, the song dies.
Have you heard the Rainy Day version?
She is kinda off key with her singing at the high notes. Rainy Day's version good and better in my opinion.
I love Dylan and the lyrics to this song but his original version is so dry. This bands take is so juicy and electric. Lick my lips.
