I went to 3 of my local stores in my rotation and NONE of them brought out any new totes of stuff. I also went to 2 stores I visit in route to my son’s college and nothing great. The first store the clearance section was small but I still found 4 pennies. At the section one they always have a good amount of clearance. I found a total of 17 pennies from party and crafts. However no totes full like you mentioned. I’m so jelly. 😆I hope to hit a few new locations today!

Went to a dollar general today.. tons of gray totes filled with penny items and cent items . I was told by the cashier that I am not allowed to go in the gray totes and that the employees have to go through them first . How upsetting . There were more than 10 gray totes some even had Christmas items in them … the store is super cluttered with merchandise boxes/gray totes everywhere mind you that the shelves are bare . They could at least let customers go through the gray bins to help declutter the store. I also went to different dg stores a day before . Most aren’t putting out the gray boxes that includes the clearance event items. They are just sitting stacked against the wall. Hopefully they will put them out soon but tomorrow will be Monday some of the items will reset . I did score a lot of penny/clearance items at the dg stores that are well kept.

What if something on the app has a negative dollar and some change amount?
I'm pretty new to this but have been enjoying saving money. Thank you for this!! My question is.... what day is this penny sale? Sorry if I missed it
It’s not considered a penny sale in the traditional sense of the word sale. The employees get a list of items weekly to pull and the ones they don’t pull or miss for whatever reason will drop to a penny on Tuesday morning which is actually a way to alert them to be pulled from inventory. If you find them, you can purchase but it’s not a “sale” like other sales. Even though you can buy them, they aren’t priced a penny for a sale.

I checked 6 stores and none of the upc codes matched so it was all still full price. 😢
I went to a bunch of different stores today to scope out and found a ton of the Frozen napkins in two of the stores. When I scanned them they came up as full price though at both locations😩
The frozen party supplies were extra confusing! The plates and napkins have two different upc numbers for some reason even though they are the exact same item. I hope you have better luck finding lots of penny items this weekend!

Went to a DG store and found icecream ring up 00 in my app i double checked was the same location, i got excited but when i went to pay ring up like a regular price😢, why??😭
This happens to me often. I share you pain. I found scissors for a penny but they weren't. Grrr
Oh and in Maine some store's you can't use wifi.

I haven't gotten any of the ice cream but I've seen several people in Facebook groups saying the ice cream that they found did that which makes me think it's just something weird going on with it. Sometimes things at Dollar General really don't make sense. Sorry that happened to you!

Hello, so do we need to wait until Friday and not go today right? Because price won't be 0.01 today but tomorrow? I want to go see what they have so far. Also at the store the app always spins and doesn't let scan is weird.
The items that are in this video will be a penny today, during the clearance event, and after the clearance event. Some stores do get their totes out early so you might find stuff today but the stores in my area always take a while to get ready and sometimes don't pull the extra clearance out from the back until Saturday. You just never know what you're going to find.
Thank you so much went day befoee sale but nothing was penny then went back today and found so much but th frozen stuff man was saying penny when using app at home but scanning at store was saying nope....full price and just scanned every single item regardless of it being same code or not lol...Cannot afford to get to register and pay $200 😅,...some people around me and cashier were looking at me like if I was a crazy person for scanning non stop and filling up my cart lol maybe they thought I was gonna steal the stuff not sure. I went to 2 stores, but customers being rude to cashiers so makes it bad for us that aren't rude to workers there. Always scan everything even if same barcode I would say. It's pretry easy but not if the wifi signal doesn't work then can't scan at all. Thank you so much :)
Is there a list of all the skus anywhere?
My best advice for getting lists of skus is joining Facebook groups about Dollar General. There are lots of different people that make lists of all the items they are finding and then they share them so everyone can look for stuff. There's also lots of people in the groups that share the lists that are sent to Dollar General employees about what's on sale.
