As a casual prog rock listener who doesnt delve too deep into the genre and always avoid instrumental only tracks, this blows me away. I am bemused by this track and eagerly waiting for the vocal to come in, and suddenly it's "thanks everybody" woaaaaaaa.
Just back from seeing big big train at the Queens hall in Edinburgh, THEY were awesome. I didnt think they would be as good without Longdon but the band knocked it out the park. Brilliant night. The opening act Dim gray were fantastic too.
Oh my Goodness what a band!!!! You just get better and better I cant wait to see you all in September, its a shame Dave cant be there but will be fab to see Maria .... everyone just takes ownership for each part of this amazing track. I just love this live version. Thank you Greg and everyone for Big Big Train, love you all guys and thanks for the music. xx
I love this track, but especially the coda. When the brass comes in, the bass pedals and all the other adornments. It's just absolutely majestic and uplifting.
I could be wrong. But I hear influence of many of my favorite bands. Yes, Rush, Kansas, Spock's' Beard and Kevin Gilbert. I've tried to follow Nick DV's music career for a decade (since Spock's Beard) now because he is an awesome drummer, great singer and just a plain nice guy. I'm glad because it now has exposed me to Big Big Train whom I will have to add their music to my many playlists. This is "The Thinking Mans Rock". Thanks Nick. I wish I could repay you for all you've given me.
Oh man, that was a great show- one of the best live rock performances I’ve ever seen. Thanks for sharing these videos, which besides being musically incredible also reminds me of spending that evening standing behind the tallest Dutch prog fans in the world. 😂
Thanks to youtube there are always musical discoveries to be made. I'm liking it!! I'll sure save the page and keep returning here for more listens. Or download it on my laptop (and phone, too) as an mp3-file , and play it until I learn all the composition from beginning to end. Very very good. Just the way I like Music to be.
This video just keeps blowing my mind on how each musician is showcasing their individual skills, while blending them all together into one whole body. Not many bands can do that on this level. This performance is quite special, really. BBT fans, share this with everyone you know. This band needs much more recognition.

If your going to a LA let me know when and ill have a word with her. She's really good. And as like music and dancing. Don't forget Hanna Barron in Alabama. She's a model. And she hunt. Wild hogs, deer, alligators. And is the weather his hot and sunny as usual she'll take you noodling. You'll love that, great laugh. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ M. C UK 🇬🇧

Never ceases to amaze me how BBT pulls off these tunes live. Just insane level of performance going on across the whole stage.
