i just got the pattern!! i'm knitting it in a nice bright yellow haha. i saw the cutest outfit on sabrina the teenage witch where she wears a yellow turtleneck under a black denim tunic dress sort of thing and i instantly fell in love - i needed to find a pattern that was fitted though, and the norma jean turtleneck was absolutely perfect. i'm only on the neck rn but i can't wait to keep going!

It’s so pretty, Helene! Exactly the type of classic simplicity I love. I’m dying to knit it, though I’m a bit afraid I might not be skilled enough yet to manage it. But I can’t wait to try!

Don't be intimidated by it, it's quite a simple pattern really!

I too love this type of shoulder! Agree on the note about being careful to not let it get to wide. My recent knitted sweater blocked out a few cm longer than supposed and rests a bit further down the shoulder. Has a bit of an 80s look haha!
I think it's absolutely salvageable though, if I sew down a ribbon along the increase-seam to tighten it.

Absolutely, securing the seam, so to speak, on the inside with ribbon or elastic will bring it back to where it should sit! 😊

I love this sweater! The tweed yarn is so pretty too. Totally get what you mean about the shoulder fit - this is exactly why I say that just sizing up for a looser fit doesn't work with set in sleeves - people often want a slightly roomier fit at the bust but forget that this throws the shoulders out of whack. A well structured, well fitting shoulder (like yours here) is very important in my opinion!

I really like this pattern it's gorgeous.
I was wondering if the pattern would be suitable for a bigger bust as well or what alterations you'd recommend to accommodate a bigger bust.

Denne ville vært perfekt i sort!
