Drone show at Han river || Visiting Itaewon
In this video I went to Itaewon and looked around at some famous spots. If you have ever watched the Korean drama Itaewon class then you will probably recognize some of these places.
I also walked through the alley where the Itaewon hallowed disaster happened. It is hard to believe that so many people lost their lives in such a small space. There used to be a lot of notes on the walls from friends and family of the ones that lost their lives that night, but those notes have been taken down and the wall they were stuck to is blocked off by a rope.
Something fun I saw in Itaewon were on the Salk walk itself, there were all these countries and how to say hello in their language. I even got to see the one for Sweden, which is of course where I am from.
The day after I went to Itaewon I met up with my friend at Jamsil. We bought some food at the convenience store and walked down to the river to wait for the drone show to start. It was absolutely packed with people and a lot of guards making sure that no one got hurt. We were lucky to find a spot to put down our blanket. We even got there about 3 hours early to make sure we would find a place to sit down.
The show was amazing. It looks cool on camera, but seeing it in real life was much cooler. I think this is because we are used to seeing special effects on videos and movies, so it feels completely different when it’s actually real in front of your eyes.
