I have to wake up at 5.30 when I work and it is exhausting, so I can't get it that there's actually people who wake up at 5 by choice...besides, why should we always be productive? We are not a factory!
I may be too skeptical but whenever I see influencers/TH-camrs talking about a tech product outside of Apple I always always see them going back to Apple after 1 week or 1 month. Which I am guessing is when the sponsorship contract ends.

Doesn’t matter, it does the job. Then you research the product and decide for yourself if it’s the gadget for you. Wouldn’t really care if the influencer is still using it a month later or not if I’m happy with it myself - gadgets are personal.

Waking up at the crack of dawn is overrated. I'm so over the "early morning people are the most effective and productive of us all" idea. It's just not true! Everyone has different bodily rhythms and you gotta work with your own.
Yes! From one Kathleen to another! I tried for years to get up really early. It made me feel physically sick. I was cranky and unhappy. My sister-in-law thinks night owls are lazy, so I felt guilty. Not anymore! I organize my day and I get everything done that I need to and feel much better!
So true. I get up at 5 AM because that’s just my natural clock, but I would NOT say it makes me more productive. All I do is read books and have coffee for three hours before work lol
I read the book called The lunar men. Wiki it. These guys spent evenings experimenting, discussing, theory, questioning, studying etc. these were great men and accomplished a lot in the 18th century. Some of these men were certainly night owls and did their best work with no distractions from the outside world when there’s things that need doing during day light hours. I feel these are my people and I won’t push myself to wake up early. Unless I’m camping, it happens naturally then haha.

I really think the 5AM club is for people who don't have anxiety. Those of us who have anxiety are not sleeping well. Our cortisol levels are elevated all the time because we don't sleep well. We are not like the people who lay down and our heads hit the pillow and we are asleep. I am not saying sleep in. I have to get up at 6:00 for work each day. But there is no flex in getting up at 5:00 when you already have frazzled nerves and don't sleep well. That is a lame marketing ploy to sell a book. You do you.
First - absolutely. Anxiety and insomnia should be taken into account with these kinds of movements. It's also really perpetrating this capitalistic idea of having to "maximize" every moment possible. You don't have to be productive at 5am in order to feel accomplished. I've started finding ways to work smarter (not harder), like setting up days with no meetings, dropping off my kid at daycare 15 min earlier to give myself extra time to enjoy a coffee in front of the TV before starting work. It's OK to chill, it's OK to sleep in, it's OK not wanting to have anything to do with 5 am. Especially once you have kids - good god, any morning you can sleep in is a GOD SEND.
That really depends! I have depression, anxiety, and insomnia, and I do best when I wake up early. I wake up at 6:30 to start work at 7 am (I work from home), and I feel way more productive before lunchtime. So it really depends on each person!

I’m an early bird and my roommate is a night owl. Our opposite schedules can be annoying sometimes, but we’re both happier and more productive on these schedules!

So many people feel like they would be more productive if they woke up earlier and that isn’t necessarily true. People who wake up at 5am typically go to bed early & those that wake up later typically stay up later. You can still be productive within your day, it just depends what time of day works for your body and that is different for everyone. So, basically don’t feel bad if you just aren’t a 5am girl because you’re still making shit happen!

I’m really confused about what to know to run a business. Like if you don’t know how to fix your computer do you run your business? You bought your car but do you know how to fix it. Like sure you spent a good amount of money and worked for this really nice stuff but how are you owning it if you don’t even know where to buy the parts and put it together. It’s like closer to renting than owning. Like sure you know the brand of car and computer but like how useful is that to understanding how to engineer things. Like is the brand of a product knowledge to pass onto the next generation. Just asking because apparently that’s being an influencing but like what is a foundation that is generational. Like yeah your an entrepreneur but what is your local bank do for your local community.
