Glad to have found you 😀. That is AI found you😉… i am 82 , live with my little dog and still learning … and at times find it difficult to care because it is ‚only‘ me… I am moving towards minimalist.. for some time now my clothes are in three colours only: blue, grey, and pink. Everything matches with every thing Thanks for the inspiration 🙏🏻
Old me... Coffee, scrolling on the phone, wasting too much time, feeling tired, and unmotivated until a nap was inevitable. Then, feeling guilty, I'd tackle too many tasks late in the day. New me... coffee, make bed, lol, empty dishwasher, devotional, get dressed, start a weekly task or zone task. I've restarted the flylady system using the app. I've customized it. And it seems to be helping. The most important part of my morning routine is getting dressed. And I can say with 100% certainty that if I do it before anything else, it is the most beneficial! 💜
Getting fully dressed and knowing what's for dinner are my biggies. Thanks for showing up today, Diane. It was fun to look back with you. I have been following you even farther back than this; my life is much better because of watching your videos. 💙
First thing in the morning I make my bed, only that I don't make it the typical way. I drape the blanket over the high lower end of my bed and shake and drape the pillow and cushion. It gives me a zen moment to leave a bed that is ready for me to return in the evening. Then washing and dressing and then COFFEE!
I’m a big fan of routine at my age (78). Up, get dressed (I shower at night), make bed, take thyroid pill & insulin shot, cup of green tea and crossword puzzle. I must do these things in this exact order or something will be forgotten.
1. Coffee/empty dishwasher / bible reading and prayer/medication while I drink my coffee. 2. Feed and water goats and chickens. 3. Getting dressed/take meds. I really need to stick more to this routine and not pick up my phone or computer until the routine is done.
Every time I've watched your video, I get a little extra motivation to keep going, because it's getting so much better than before I met you and your way of approaching the flylady system. ❤
My morning routine now I'm retired. Cup of tea to take back to bed to drink ( such a luxury) shower, dress, make bed and swish and swipe bathroom. The day can now begin.
That sounds perfect. Mine is the same, but I put away dishes instead of swish and swiping. I think I will add in the swish and swipe, though. Time to get back on track!
Mine's a little different - shower, dress, let the sheep out, laundry, breakfast. Then at sunset I have to bring them back in and feed them. A far cry from my working days when I commuted to downtown Toronto to work as a law librarian in the financial district! I liked seeing the two different videos!
After I go to the bathroom, take medicine, then I feed the cats. Then I get my coffee and do some Bible reading. When I brush my teeth I swish and swipe the bathroom. Kathy B
You are such a brilliant motivator. I have been watching you Diane for a number of years. Every video you make is gold and I go back and watch your older ones as I clean specific areas. You create such a lot of variety’s and interesting topics. I am retired. My youngest, an adult child 19 yrs studying Law is here 4 days a week. My routine is have coffee (and a think) looking out at the wildlife in the trees. Feed the pets do the dishes and pick up after them. Think about dinner for myself and the pets, make sure I have ingredients . Take some fish out to defrost and later marinate. Feed the worm farms. Check the water in the bird baths. Pick any home grown produce. A bit of gardening if needed on the way back inside. I do a load of laundry every 2 weeks. I follow you and the Flylady system so I keep to that. Thank you Diane!
The key thing you mentioned was making a list of what needs to get accomplished. I was doing great, then stopped listing because I knew what tasks needed to be completed. Things weren’t getting done! I started listing again and I’m back on track with my housework. 😊
Thank you, Diane. After falling apart last year, I'm rested, recharged, and ready to start fresh. While I tried to follow daily routines, they too fell apart. But I know the core basics make such a huge difference -- your reminders now and new tips are just perfect to encourage me forward, step by step. Thank you, thank you.
Following your videos 8 years. I was already doing this yet nice to see someone else do these too like buddying up. Doing too much stands out. I was the age you are now when I first started watching your videos. So important at menopause age GPs of no help to me. I was doing too much probably twice as much as I should going to 1-2 am in the morning just decluttering etc My father had just died, I was moving house and had half responsibility for my parents things also. Other things on top of this I ended up with atrial fibrillation. Important to be good to your body and stop early. I did appreciate what my body did yet didn't know not to push it too much.
I love this video because it gives me hope as I start because I see the difference between then and now. Just started this week there is hope for me 😊 in Namibia, Africa.
Having stopped work, after many years of working, I have found it really important to have my Flylady routines, otherwise my day is wasted slumped in front of the TV or scrolling on my phone. Thanks to your wonderful videos, I feel energised to move forward and enjoy a life whereby my home is clean and tidy (not perfect) and I have time to indulge in myself, my family and new hobbies. Thanks Diane, happy to see your subscriber numbers going up.
Love the morning routine! Get up, open the window of the bedroom, set up coffee, make my self ready, empty the dishwasher, prepare something to eat for work, swish and swipe, make the bed 😊 In the afternoon vacuum the floor or mob the floor and walk the dog, zone cleaning. Break! In the evening: cooking dinner, load the dishwasher clean the kitchen, sink 😅. Before going to bed I care for the the living room 2 minutes (put away blankets, arrange pilows, put away glasses or cups) . So everytime I go into the kitchen, bathroom, livingroom...it is nice and tidy 😊 LOL in the morning or afternoon. Depending what I want to wash and how the weather looks like😅
Thank you Diane. I have a lot to do in the morning, but my sine qua non routine is: air bed, put clothes and face on, check diary, cut up fruit for our morning muesli. (No skipping breakfast for me 😂). Best wishes, Anne
Wake at 5am, watch you on TH-cam and a bit of social media, up at 6 am, bath, dress, makeup, hair. Make the bed, unload the dishwasher, a bit of breakfast, out the door at 7:20 to take the dog for a walk. Back at 8:30, plan dinner. That is my every morning routine, followed by whatever I have planned for the rest of the day. Love your videos
Hi Diane. I love looking back at your previous videos to show your morning routine. You’ve always been an inspiration to me and you continue to do so. I don’t do a plunge. However, I turn off the hot water in my shower for the last few minutes, BRRR it is cold, but gives me a good start to the day. Thank you 😊
The years go by so quickly, it seems that you did that video just yesterday. I have been doing my morning routines for years, even before Flylady Diane. Now they are automatic, I dont need a list or a reminder. I get up as soon as I wake up. I can't imagine eating or drinking in bed. Routine is wash face, brush teeth, have breakfast, bathroom routine, swish and swipe, make bed, vacuum and lol if needed and exercise. Exercise outdoors when weather permits otherwise I exercise indoors to a lady from Australia, her TH-cam channel is Fabulous 50's Workout which I watch on the tv. She is very motivating and lots of videos with modifications for those who need them. If I don't exercise I just feel out of sorts all day as if there is something missing. If I have time I also like to do some Yoga but even though I get up early there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to do everything.
My morning routine is always 1. Plunge pool 2. Air bed and room 3. Coffee and breakfast 4. Plan for tea/dinner I do this so automatically, I almost take it for granted 😂😊.
Fab video Diane. I have a 7 month old who likes to be carried everywhere so it’s hard to get routines done without two hands 😂 but I do keep things simple and have developed a system where even though the house looks messy I do a ‘PUPA’ whenever I can and I’ve practiced with my timer, it doesn’t take me that long! I do my load of laundry every day. I’ve delegated to kitchen duties to my husband (he does clean up), and although it’s not to my standard, it’s good enough for now. Next step is to teach him to shine the sink and swish and swipe 😂
This was great, and how brave of you to video yourself first thing in the morning! My must do morning tasks are: laundry, check what’s for dinner, finish the dishes (whether that’s stacking or emptying the dishwasher, putting items away etc. I always make the bed and swish and swipe the bathroom but those habits are so ingrained that I don’t even need to think of them 😊
✨ What’s your morning routine like? Do you have three must-dos that set you up for the day, are you looking to simplify things for 2025? 🌟 Remember, it's not about perfection, it's about making it hyggelig and finding what fits your life right now! 🕯☕💖 And if you want to know what's for dinner tonight, it's haggis! Ha ha!
🙂 My three must do’s are a load of laundry (lol), a swish and swipe and opening a window for at least 10 mins. Things I need to simplify are the amount of clothing and shoes I have as I destashed well but it’s all building again, also I need to make less unnecessary purchases and I need to work on putting the clean laundry away straight away instead of stacking it on the bed in the spare room. x
Hello Diane, my three must-dos are: open all windows for fresh air, making my bed and checking the calendar. Then - very important for me - a break, because otherwise I work through until noon and then get a pain attack. Your videos have really helped me a lot over the years. When I started with the Fly Lady in 2014, it was unfortunately the time of „spring cleaning in Fly Lady Land“ but I did it all year round because it was the only system I know. Only your videos made me rethink of it. So again: Thank you very much. Greetings from cologne Andy
Dinner, oh I hear you on that!!! I do plan dinner b4 breakfast because dinner time comes and I just can't think and we end up with takeout. Planning in morning is also keeping leftovers eaten vs throwing out because they hung around too long and spoil. My brain does not work on detailed menu planning a week or more in advance. I can do a few days but not week or weeks planning. We end up with too many leftovers and then overwhelmed sets in.
I rise early 3:00 to 4:00am, take my morning med, pray, bible study, and then get started with my day with starting a load of laundry, emptying the dishwasher and prepping for dinner. Then breakfast about 10:00am. I enjoy having most of what I need done by noon! Then I can relax a bit, read a good book or even take a nap.
1.bathroom bits/get dressed 2.meditate/yoga/tea 3.air/make bed I’d like to start getting up earlier so I can add LOL and a 15 min zone cleaning before I have to leave the house on my “busy” days, because on those days, I never get to zone cleaning and before I know it the week is over and I’m putting cleaning on my weekend list. Ugh! Your motivation is indispensable; thank you and rah rah rah!🎉
Excellent Excellent Diane! I am retired and thats very good advice. I have to do morning stretches first thing and then my gratitude journal and tea outside on bench in my porch. I felt that I was procrastinating but actually it is impossible that I do those and read 1 Seneca letter THEN I can have the things that must be done each day. It's so simple but i needed you to highlight that ❤ thank you so much again Diane big love from Scotland ❤
I enjoyed your look back in time. I didn’t discover TH-cam until 2020. You are always on my favorite list! In the morning I always listen to my prayer app, air out and then make my bed (I learned that from you!), do my bathroom routine including getting dressed, put dry dishes away, drink a big glass of water and often make coffee. Following that, I exercise 3-4 days a week and 2 days a week, I go to church. I don’t have a lot of laundry so I usually do it on Monday and I do my house cleaning on Thursday or Saturday. I keep the bathroom tidy all week just like you taught me! I’m trying to figure out a rhythm and routine for the rest of my day. I need to revisit your routines for what to focus on each day. Thanks for being an inspiration. ❤
The biggest thing I learnt from you, dear Diane, is doing laundry and ironing consistently. No more Mount Washmore for me. And I am so proud of that! It's lol or ironing every morning for me, breakfast and getting dressed, and what's for lunch / dinner. Then the day can start❤🎉🎉
I used to do a handstand every morning before breakfast and, for no reason, stopped last year, so that’s a habit to bring back. A few years ago I started eating a small bowl of vegetables with my breakfast and that habit is a keeper (along with making bed, walking dog and laundry).
Thank you Diane, really lovely to see the old video, takes me back to the early days of following you . Great reminder and encouraging, always good to re fresh. You have been a great inspiration and a big part of my life and I am eternally grateful to you. ❤ 🎉🎉🎉
How interesting to take a quick glance back at the routines of yesteryear! It strikes me that your your future, post-relocation routines probably won’t involve going up and down stairs as much as you’re doing now. My 2025 morning routine includes watering one set of plants per day, and focusing one one little area each day to “prettify”. After I have one little hygge corner set up to delight my eye, I can’t wait to make the rest of the room fresh and tidy.
Glad you are reviewing and renewing keeps things fresh. Have watched this video over and over picking something new each time that I need to focus on thanks Diane
Same thing these days, I air my bed while I do my 30 minute exercise routine. Then I shower. My outfit is chosen the day before and my breakfast is ready waiting (I get that prepped the day before too - overnight muesli and fruit). I usually have tea with my breakfast. I wash up when we’ve both had breakfast. We don’t use the dishwasher. It was here when we moved in and I would have had it taken out but it would leave a big gap in the kitchen. We are gradually decluttering and my husband has got into it now too. I do a set of stretches and meditation before bed each day now too 😊
I use to have a long morning list but thanks to you I have a simple one that I can accomplish. Also, I think my favorite thing I do is set my clothes out for next day. That really helps me to get up and get dressed right away ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
During the 5 months I struggled with back problems there were MANY days when I didn't get dressed. Now that my health is back on track, getting dressed, with makeup, is a great motivation to do other things as well. As others have mentioned, I'm still spending too much time on my phone so I'm going to concentrate this week on scaling that back 👍🙂
Since retiring my morning routine has gotten more and more lazy. I do assess laundry daily and start a load early, while coffee is in the works. But the internet scrolling has gotten out of hand. I intend to implement the 3 item to do list today as that has been successful in the past. And also what flylady called daily “5-min. room rescue” on your worst space. I started that yesterday and was pleased with the results - did one rescue in two rooms. Thanks for keeping us on task Diane.
Oh, me too! I do get dressed, put away dishes and make bed, but often call it a day after that! So, when you do your room rescue, you don't finish the room? Just work 5 min a day?
Top three for this retiree ~ lol (love doing laundry early morning), make green tea, confirm to myself what’s for dinner (or worry about it all day 🙃☺️) also pick three tasks from written list to work on or complete. Set time limit for a longer task so I don’t go down a rabbit hole. Your timer tips are golden. Thank you! 💕
Love this video Diane. It’s great to see you being productive in a wintery setting that a lot of us can relate to. The candles really help with the January blahs. Great inspiration. x
I remember you mentioning before about have a short list of must-do’s for your morning routine. That was an ah-ha moment for me. My new morning routine, which has been working for a dew years now is, make beds, get dressed, start laundry. If I just do those 3 things the rest of my day falls into place. Thanks again for all your videos! They have helped me so much!!
So nice to look back in time. My morning routine has never been a problem, but I am working on a consistent afternoon routine. Having a break, supervising the kids’ homework and preparing dinner are my three musts. ❤
That was a fun rewind! My morning routine includes a cup of tea, health & spiritual practices, personal care, breakfast prep, and then time to be at my desk for work! Household chores are done during breaks to get me up and moving 😊
What a fun idea, Diane, to bring up the content from years ago ❤! I am following you for several years and it never ever has been boring. You are such a delight!! Please keep reminding me to like your videos. Subscribed I am, obviously 😅, but I am so used to "not react a lot to algorithms" for privacy reasons that I really do automatically not hit the thumb up. So please keep reminding me 😊❤❤
Thank you for sharing, Diane. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting and one meal a day for a few years now. It has helped me with energy and an autoimmune condition. One thing that strikes me is how beautiful and youthful you are with your grey hair. It suits you admirably well and makes your features stand out even more.
Loved your morning routine refresh video this morning from very sunny Western Australia 🇦🇺. I too am (nearly) an empty nester (53) and I’m finding my routines have changed quite a lot since my kids have finished school I’m loving 🥰 updating them to suit my new stage in life and seeing what is truly important. Thanks 🙏🏻 for your inspiration 💕
Thank you Diane ❤ I have promised myself I would start and finish a quilt 2025❤❤❤❤❤ I am using scraps of fabric making wonky stars on a whie background. Amazingly I have kept my 15 min per day schedule and I have reduced my scraps down to a small handful. Two boxes emptied and gone. And my new quilt is starting to really please me.. ❤❤❤
3 videos again? Oh, yes - please! I truly enjoyed them last year! Your tips and how you share them are so very much appreciated! Maybe one or two ideas for weekly selfcare and an update on what you are reading or watching would be lovely, too. I think I‘ve been around since when you had fewer than 5000 followers - can‘t wait for you to reach the highly deserved 100 000. ❤️🇦🇹
I remember that I added led candles and a diffuser in my bathroom for my am routine after watching that same 2019 video! I am still loving it!🥰. What I want to add now are the timer candles downstairs in the kitchen and maybe some nightlights. I have the timer candles set up for evening, but never thought about them for morning in the main living areas. Way to keep going with the cold plunges!!!🥶 I’ll stick to turning the shower to cold for about 10 seconds!🎉🎉🎉
I do great with my morning routine when hubby is t home, when he’s here it all goes out the door. I’m going to reframe when he retires this summer so I stay on track. Thanks Diane for always being here to encourage us😊
Hello Diane, For 2025 I keep completing your weekly “HYGGE HOME +LIFE” form. It helps me a lot to stay on track 😊 Thank you so much for it! As a former nurse, I do the bed firstly, get dressed and eat a good breakfast with a nice coffee, of course. Then exercices whit friends, walks mostly (with orthese) even if it is minus 10. Have a nices dips. 🎉
Thanks Diane. I don't have a routine because I have 3 kids 4 and under. Every morning is different. The only constants are coffee and chaos. But my house tidies up quickly because we're minimalists, so my biggest goal is getting the dishes done before bed (hand wash) so the mornings go smoother.
I loved how you put this video together comparing the morning routines 😊. You have helped me turn my house into a cozy, organized home and shown me how to enjoy the benefits of it. Thank you Diane ❤
My morning routine is 1. Feed cats and clean litter trays 2. Bathroom for getting dressed and swish and swipe 3. Then a big cup of rooibos tea while I look at jobs for the rest of my day.
Glad to have found you 😀. That is AI found you😉… i am 82 , live with my little dog and still learning … and at times find it difficult to care because it is ‚only‘ me…
I am moving towards minimalist.. for some time now my clothes are in three colours only: blue, grey, and pink. Everything matches with every thing

Wow! I could’ve written this, down to customising the Flylady app!
Your "old me" sounds just like me...except, tea - not coffee. And your "new me" sounds like a plan.
Thank you for the great updated video! Love your new format 😍
So glad we are back to three videos per week. I love it.
1. Take pills
2. Skincare
3. Make bed………..then breakfast before round 2

4 must do’s empty dishwasher-lol-dress to shoes- make beds - Diane I have been well trained by you over the last 6 years ! ❤️
Ha ha, I LOVE hearing that, Angela!
Loved seeing this old video today. I like the idea of the soft lighting in the morning 😊❤

Wish I could open the window in winter but at -15C and even colder I would not be able to close it again. Can’t wait for Spring.
I love seeing your 2019 flashback. Super cool!
Great combination of the older and new video content! So helpful to be reminded especially during the dark days of winter - thank you Diane!!!

Things I need to simplify are the amount of clothing and shoes I have as I destashed well but it’s all building again, also I need to make less unnecessary purchases and I need to work on putting the clean laundry away straight away instead of stacking it on the bed in the spare room. x
@@mandyshangalang1398 I will be here cheering you on, Mandy!
My must-dos are resetting the coffee pot and the robot vacuum, washing cat bowls, and laundry.
My must do's are wash/dress, put away dishes and make bed.
My three things are taking a shower and getting dressed with makeup and jewelry, making my bed, and coffee!!!!
I realized I've been following ypu longer than I realized 🙂🙂. I love my routines!!
Woo hoo, Laura!
Do the same each morning. Love it, one of the best things about retirement.
we make a fresh start everyday. New goals etc I love my faith and your vidoes are nice refreshing way to get ideas. thank you x
You are so close to your goal of 100k!
1.bathroom bits/get dressed
2.meditate/yoga/tea
3.air/make bed
I’d like to start getting up earlier so I can add LOL and a 15 min zone cleaning before I have to leave the house on my “busy” days, because on those days, I never get to zone cleaning and before I know it the week is over and I’m putting cleaning on my weekend list. Ugh!
Your motivation is indispensable; thank you and rah rah rah!🎉
Mornings are hard. I'm retired, and I still find them a challenge!
My routines are so much better bc of you!
Always a pleasure to see you Diane! My morning routine is 1) making my bed, 2) cup of coffe, 3) journaling.
Sounds nice!
Essential not impossible sorry!
I truly enjoyed watching your 2019 videos. That was when I found you. It broke back so many memories. :) Thanks for sharing. :0
Loved the flashback to 2019!❤❤❤
I was noticing how much you've decluttered since 2019 as well. 😊
Thanks for the motivation Diane. This time of year I just want to hibernate 😊.
Gosh, you and me both, Cheryl! Though I find that getting out daily for my dip or bike ride helps my mood immensely!
Agree. So easy to cuddle under the warm comforter with my phone, cup of coffee or a book. But it goes too long!!
Oh boy thank you for the reminder about having a depressing long list ha ha. Will need to pick my top 3 ❤️🥳
I have followed you for a while now. Just now, as I watched your video did I realize how much of a routine I am finally in! RAH rah rah! Thank YOU!
You look younger 5 years later.
Sounds lovely, Penelope!
This was lovely and inspiring ❤ thank you for all you do for us Diane.
Yes trying to do too much! Cutting back! ❤
Glad you are reviewing and renewing keeps things fresh. Have watched this video over and over picking something new each time that I need to focus on thanks Diane
Love your glasses! ❤
I do a set of stretches and meditation before bed each day now too 😊
My must do's first thing
1 Showet.
2. Dress to Shoes.
3. Breakfast.
4. Make the bed.
5. LOL.
Thank you so much for all your encouragement
Ra ra ra.❤
Great list!
I use to have a long morning list but thanks to you I have a simple one that I can accomplish. Also, I think my favorite thing I do is set my clothes out for next day. That really helps me to get up and get dressed right away ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Yes, I agree setting out clothes was a game changer...also put away clean dishes while the coffee brews!
Hey Diane! You are such an inspiration. ❤
Thank you! 💕
❤ bible reading for the day.
Empty dishwasher.
Cup of coffee and lol.
Best regards Diane🖐️ Thank you for your morning routine🌹
Love this video Diane. It’s great to see you being productive in a wintery setting that a lot of us can relate to. The candles really help with the January blahs. Great inspiration. x
Thank you! Keep those candles going! 🙏🏼😍
I’m embracing the concept of wabi sabi and applying it to my life. Embracing the beauty of imperfection 😊
Put in load of laundry, do my walk, and then dress for the day. I also intermittent fast so I try to keep busy so I’m not tempted to eat!
That was a fun rewind! My morning routine includes a cup of tea, health & spiritual practices, personal care, breakfast prep, and then time to be at my desk for work! Household chores are done during breaks to get me up and moving 😊
Like it - what type of work do you do at your desk?
Loved this format Diane. It was fun to look back with you 5 years ago
Thank you Diane 🩵
My evening routine is where I find I struggle the most.
I totally relate. I've run out of steam by then.
Thank you for your videos!
So please keep reminding me 😊❤❤
Thank you, Diane, for the great ideas and encouragement.!🎉❤
lovely
Thank you for sharing, Diane. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting and one meal a day for a few years now. It has helped me with energy and an autoimmune condition. One thing that strikes me is how beautiful and youthful you are with your grey hair. It suits you admirably well and makes your features stand out even more.
Aww, thank you, Marielle!
@@DianeinDenmark You’re welcome, Diane.
Thank you❤
My morning routine is fundamental to keeping things on track in my home. They have become as automatic as showering and brushing my teeth. 🦋🦋🦋
Wonderful, Beverly - nice project!
Thanks Diane for always being here to encourage us😊
Love this update! 💜💜💜
Hello Diane,
For 2025 I keep completing your weekly “HYGGE HOME +LIFE” form.
My morning routine is
1. Feed cats and clean litter trays
2. Bathroom for getting dressed and swish and swipe
3. Then a big cup of rooibos tea while I look at jobs for the rest of my day.
Loved going back in time - very clever @DianeinDenmark …. Looking forward to more in 2025 😊
