I just ordered a sample of this after watching your video and your reaction was way more jolly than mine was. I feel horrified and disturbed and probably won't sleep well at all tonight. What even is this??? I feel like I can taste it and I stopped smelling it about half an hour ago. It's like an old lady's perfumed carcass after a few days of not being found.

I come back and watch this video occasionally as I think your reaction is priceless. When I smelled this, I didn't think it smelled good but it actually isn't the worst I have ever smelled. I didn't get a crime scene. I thought it smelled like my grandmother's metal chair/tables on the deck after it has rained. It smelled like wet metal to me with some florals thrown in so maybe there is a garden down the steps. But the metal note didn't make me think if of blood, it made we think of a wet metal table LOL.

The face she is making just before saying "that's" at 3:16 is like the most beautiful expression of joy I have ever seen, which seems entirely reasonable for smelling something so bad that it wraps around to an amazing experience

@35M40 Well, as a reference, I think Putain des Palaces has its charms and have happily worn my sample on occasion. Not so with SM.

I tried It and I thought the fragrance was very disturbing, but i couldn't stop smelling it, 24 hours latter I had to buy it, it does smell metallic, but i don't think that is a bad thing, when I have it on me people's reaction to the smell is great, this scent stings your emotional memory, so I suppose people reactions to it are related to their experiences.
Sniffing a sample of Sécrétions Magnifique on my wrist that I procured from Luckyscent. First impressions were the metallic note that every other reviewer including yourself picked up on. And then... not much. It's only been about ten minutes so I'm gonna let it dry down a bit more on my skin, but all I am getting is a light, powdery white floral with a slight Limburger-cheese bite to it. There is a clinical; medicinal quality that brings to mind images of hospital rooms or latex examination gloves. I'm tempted to douse more on to see if it gets any worse or better. I can't say that I hate it. Love your series of reviews and their witty, tongue-in-cheek manner!
I'm REALLY curious to see just how rancid this perfume is. I should probably take your word for it when you say it's as putrid as it sounds but now I want to test it out for myself.
@iamcasihart No bleach smell in SM. The blood dripping down the throat from your bloody nose is a good analogy. And a rank "expired marine life" odor.

This totally reminds me of your Perfume Tips for the Office video, where the cameraman (Tricky, wasn't it?) mentioned "Trout perfume" or "Tampon perfume". Sounds like this one was both trout AND tampon in one!

@eviboyd Jasmine and Cigarettes is really good, isn't it. I just learned from reading Denyse Beaulieu's book "The Perfume Lover" that there is an olfactory kinship between those two seemingly disparate things.
I smelled one a few years back and about died couldn't believe they would make it, don't remember the name it was in the men's section and smelled identical to a skunk smell.

YES it smells of sour milk, YES it smells of rusty metal stained with fresh blood, YES it smells of rotting algae, YES it smells like a woman's sweat of excitement, etc etc...
Out of all those elements, milk is the one that grossed me out the most. No matter how fresh it is, it always smell spoiled to me. I used to work in a hospital and I'm sure I could tough this scent out. How long did it last? Can you get it off with rubbing alcohol? Can you get it in lotion form because rubbing yourself with industrial waste might appeal to some people?
Your visceral horror reminds me of those 2girls1cup reaction videos. Perhaps Secretions Magnifiques first sniff videos can become a new internet trend. I don't think I'm brave enough to try, since Putain des Palaces and its hussy accord put me off a bit and I've heard it's the most accessible of the line. This one would send me straight to a nunnery.

I just did a review on this. Very fun and entertaining time with this. The ladies at work did not like this one and gave me some excellent comments, lol. It made Amanda's eyes water too, lol. It was very entertaining to watch your reaction to this! The dry down is actually not that bad. It's funny how it changes into something pleasant.

@181lajo LT is clearly made of sterner stuff than I! For me, the part he described as "bilge" was the headliner for me. It's certainly worth 5 stars for shock value. Maybe lovelier subtleties materialize after a few hours on the skin, but I did not want to go along for SM's ride.

I feel I must amend my earlier post. Once this stuff starts to dry down it reminds me of Aqua Net (not entirely unpleasant - it takes me back to my grandmother's bathroom, circa 1977), and now about an hour later it smells like a high end floral. I'm starting to think this works in the same way as Comme des Garcon's late lamented Synthetic Series did for me, where scent is used to evoke an emotional reaction or a memory, not to simply "smell good." I have a feeling I'll be buying a bottle.
Okay, now I HAVE to smell this! It was fun actually watching your initial reaction to it and I give you props for smelling it for the first time on camera.
The worst fragrance is Rose 31 by le labo and the original Fendi for men. They both have a smell of BO. Fendi dries down 100% BO. And that is a fact. I recommend to never blind buy any cologne, at all.

This Fragrance was meant to be disgusting, it was is meaning and don't sells cheap, but is for that original situation when you have a shitty job and find a better one and tell your boss, or when a seller knock at your door, or when Mormons knock at your door etc.
This became a "must smell" for me since seeing your video. Wearing a sample at the moment, I'm honestly underwhelmed. It's not as revolting as I frankly hoped it would be. It's very linear and it smells exactly like "Mildew" by Demeter, which according to their website, is that odd smell you get when you turn your central heat on the first time in early winter. I like Secretions Magnifique in a perverse way, but it's very linear and way too expensive for what is basically a novelty.

Dear Katie. I love your reaction!!! I had a similar reaction. I have tried this today and yes, it is "glamourized sperm". It is truly disgusting. But I find Tierry Mugler's "Womanity" equally "spermy" albeit more wet and fruity (fig note). The begging question here is "WHY?" Why would someone create something like this? But it is less questionable than your earlier reviewed "Eau de Pizza Hut". I also loathe "Phillpino Boy" aka "Fils De Dieu" that simply smells of Thai Cuisine......stick to old world perfumery then, lol.

Musc by Bruno Acampora, the oil version is the most intimate.

I have tried this particular perfume. I was given a sample pretty much like what she got. No joke; as a guy, the first whiff of it gave me an instant boner! It was beastial, it was savage, it was LUSTFUL! It. Turned. Me. ON!
I came THIS close to purchasing that bottle. But something in me said, "Wait bruh! Just wait it out ..". And because I had it on my skin, needless to say I was getting LOOKS all day as I went about my chores. Looks of surprise, looks of disgust, and dare I say it, looks of fear. And by the end of the day, here's what it smelled like ...
Have you ever went into a marketplace where they cut up meats (specifically, pork) and poultry out in the open? Or a butchery that was not a refrigerated cold-room? That smell of flesh and blood and the sweat and breath of the meat-workers? Yeah. That is what it smelled like at the end of the day. I smelled like a walking cadaver. I smelled like a murderer AND his victim. I. Smelled. Like LITERALLY - a piece of meat.
PS: I never used that sample again ... but I do carry it with me. Whenever someone pisses me off ... I secretly and discreetly, put a drop on them and watch the mayhem ensue.

I smelled it today (this is what made me come here) and my first thought was exactly the same as yours: it screamed "MURDER SCENE"!!! but not an usual murder scene. a murder that has taken place in an abandoned, damp, rancid industrial place. also, I get a little bit of saliva, but a synthetic one, if that makes sense. this mix smells 20% human (in the worst, most murderous way) and 80% synthetic. it is simply morbid and deranging. I think I will smell this in my nightmares.

I haven't heard someone say "baloney pony" since 1992. It's a great phrase. I suspect this stuff would have putrescine and cadaverine in it, which semen does contain.

That totally sounds like something that the folks at Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs would conjure up...but I'm glad they haven't. A few years ago I read about a "perfume" called "V," I think, that's supposed to smell like secretions of the feminine variety. You should do an accompanying review of that just to round things out. ;-) I assume the majority of the market for scents like this is simply shock value? Hopefully? I find it intriguing, but will stick to smelling like cupcakes or flowers, lol!
Ugh, I just sampled it and almost threw up in my mouth! And people are right...I've scrubbed it off twice AND sprayed Shalimar on my wrist and I can STILL smell it! It smells like a wet dog wandered into a POORLY cleaned up crime scene! I got nothing sexy out of this, maybe in a snuff film, but not any sex that I've ever had!🤢🤮
I found it quite sour. Maybe a little female discharge as well. The blood has the overtone definitely but i have only tried it on paper.

I actually really need this fragrance now, to deal with the nuisance neighbours who have been allowing their dog to continuously take poos immediately outside my front gate. An constantly throw cigarette butts outside my front garden daily. Revenge will be mine!!! LooooooL!

Recently started watching your reviews and this one is awesome! I totally lol'd when you sniffed your arm the first time. I've never heard of this scent and frankly, I'm glad I haven't! I love perfume and have tons of it myself. I'm also a handcrafted bath and body products maker so scent it very important to me. I've been "creating" some of my own for my products and have gotten great response. That's how I came across your channel was by searching for scent descriptions. Love it!

This is the perfume I am wearing (not on a daily basis but often enough). I know people are disturbed by the description (blood, semen etc), and it makes then feel ackward, prude or whatever, and ready to disapprouve. It's actually VERY sexy. (If you are confident enough, of course. Otherwise stay safe and stick to sappy perfumes from Macy's)
I went cold and nearly got fainted when she applied the perfume several times and sniffed very close to the skin. OMG :O It should be smelled in a small amount and from a distance to avoid faint

@kharabgulab That is SO interesting! Thank you for sharing a "yes!" for SM. From what I've Luca Turin says, it can be appreciated as a bright floral, and it sounds like you're on the same frequency. Fascinating. I will revisit in a year (maybe...) and see if I can get into it in that way.

Yeah, that's the thing. This fragrance does smell bad to me, but I've felt the same revulsion over many different fragrances. In that sense, I was kind of disappointed because I was hoping it would smell a lot worse lol. But then again, this perfume wasn't specifically created to smell bad, but to be evocative.
Ha ha ha. My first thought when I smelled this was 'the ferry'. It smells like bilge water - a stench I'm familiar with from many Channel crossings. I wouldn't be surprised if this has a drop of seaweed absolute in it, as it has that rotting seaweed smell. Definitely blood, though I didn't get any milk (Serge Lutens' Dent de Lait has similar notes, though used in a less disturbing fashion). But after about an hour on my skin it settled down into a fresh white floral with an outdoorsy, salty, seaside air. I'll never wear this, but I'll always keep it on hand to scare friends with during my perfume evenings.
