Fantastic review, thank you. I've had an extended test drive of the 1.3 manual Tekna and love it, can't wait to put my order in for the exact same model you have just reviewed.
Thanks for the review. I have my Tekna + epower arriving the 1st week of November! Really looking forward to being one of the first owners of this amazing car. 👍
Hello, my name is Anthony. I currently drive a 2011 Toyota Auris diesel and I am considering buying a hybrid. I am interested in the Qashqai e-power but would it be possible that you upload a video of what the engine sounds like with the bonnet open on a cold morning. Basically a cold start.
Thanks, I get my 2024 ePower next week & had ordered it on this week. Not bad, in Gun Metal, 1st choice was green Ocean Deep but 4 month wait which is not good enough & all the brands are doing this. I wondered about brakes on Regen being wore out as it brakes pretty sharply, but how does it do it? I will have to half my braking distances on how I drove my old Scenic. It doesn't feel right but once I get the hang of it & they may have to change the rules on a driving test, as the car is totally different with the instant acceleration, and these cars should not be driven by under 25s, as it would be carnage out there. Millennials, men or should I say boys, really drive very fast thinking its a computer game. We just had a horrific crash with 4 young men died driving very fast & hit a tree. Few days before 6 died in another accident. Back to car design. This front works well with all colours. The 24 Joker front doesn't work well with bright colours. Next year they are changing the front again & looks good. So you buy your car & 12 months later its yesterday's car because of constant every year revamp. It doesn't help brand loyalty by doing this every year. You feel sort of conned. Thanks.
Only 1 point. Keep your hands on the steering wheel! In reference to that does lane assist physically keep you in the lane or is it just a warning? Recently experienced lane assist on a Subaru that kept the vehicle in the lane, gives a new meaning to hands free.
Hey, I might be a bit late to answer, but as no one else has I'll do it for anyone else wondering. I have the previous generation of Qashqai with lane assist, so I'm assuming it is the same. Lane assist will beep when your crossing lane markings without indicating. If you're indicating it will realise this is probably a motorway lane change, and so won't warn you. However, if you drive using lane assist with the radar cruise control on, it will make minor adjustments to the wheel on your behalf to keep you centred in the lane, really useful for motorway driving. Haven't ever used this around town, but I don't think many people will cruise control around town. Anyway, I hope that's of some help to you.
I have older the new qashqai here in cyprus but not the e-power (the gas one) at 1/05 and I expecting it around 1/01/2023..do you know if I take it with the new infotenment or the old one?
My wife is disabled, and because she has the highest rate of PIP for both care and mobility we take advantage of the Motability scheme. We are on our 3rd Qashqai this one being the Tekna. Now we have a decision to make next year. The standard Tekna has introduced the one thing my wife really wanted and that's an automatic boot. The E-power on the scheme, is only available in N connecta trim so doesn't have a few of the luxuries the Tekna does BUT, the advance payment for the E power is £1000 less, so this has really given us a dilemma. What do you guys think? Great review, enjoyed watching it.
If you look on the Motability website they do offer the E-Power in the Tekna. It is a higher advance payment though which is £3,199. So around £900-£1100 more than the N-Connecta depending on whether you’d have the glass roof option or not.
@@AmiiChappell Sorry but here in the UK the E-power is NOT offered as a Tekna version. The n-connecta is either £2799 or £3099 depending on the glass roof option. Happy New Year
I stand corrected. I have just got a new Nissan price list(1st Jan - 31st Mar 2023 they come out 4 times a year) and you are absolutely right the e-power is now offered in Tekna spec.
I'm struggling to see any mpg figures that impress me. My wife has a 2021 Honda Jazz cross star that gets 66 mpg on local school runs and shopping only. So 50-55 mpg ain't great .
Still confused as to mpg….or electric equivalent. My current Qashqai has achieved 52 mpg on a long run. I am struggling to appreciate what is the benefit of changing to e-power
Ive had the e-power since November last year and I am getting roughly 52 mpg and I don't drive it hard. Driving in EV gives you practically nothing milage wise. Saying though it is THE BEST CAR I have ever driven, I traded in a top of the range Insignia estate for it and the 2 don't compare.
Really enjoyed the video - thank you. However, despite me using the vehicle for mainly URBAN driving - I also cover long (400 mile) motorway journeys every 6-8 weeks. How would this work with the MPG and components? Would it be a case that by driving around the 70mph on motorways, that the electric side of things aren't used and you depend on the petrol? Also, are you saying the petrol is used for the motor to charge the battery only - thank you.
@@holdcroftnissan3395 .. thank you - understood and much appreciated for the swift response. Have you any official MPG figures of real life driving because it states around 53.3 MPG. However, aren't these usually much lower on everyday roads and traffic etc. I'm really interested in this vehicle because it's the next step up to the future of driving! I've been a DIESEL driver since 1998, so I have to adapt to a completely new style of driving these EV/Hybrid vehicles! There's so much information to take on board but these videos are fantastic 👍
@@jeffsmith559I had an X-trail ePower rental in Iceland for a week. Unfavourable conditions as it was both cold (so not optimal for the battery) and it was the AWD e4orce variant so already more thirsty but I was getting 42-45mpg pretty consistently, and I’m no slow coach. Such a nice smooth drive, will likely ask for a Qashqai ePower as next company car.
As the drive is entirely by an electric motor, when you lift off the go pedal the car's inertia then drives that motor's energy use in reverse and it becomes a generator. That causes the car to slow down as the captured energy is returned to the battery. It feels like you have used the brake pedal but you haven't - so the brake pads last a lot longer. Regenerative braking.
Not really, it gives better MPG, electricity isn't free...... Also an electric car as amazing as they are aren't for everybody, catering for everyone means doing many things in different ways
My wife has just got one and as a truck person im really impressed.
Nice review, but you'd make me a nervous passenger with the hands free approach! I get mine this week.
yeah hands on the wheel sunshine

We've ordered the tekna today, but why didn't you put your seat belt on, Naughty boy! 😊

Nice clear review well done
Is there much more room in the X trail compared with the Qashqui
?
I'm wondering why they don't sell Qashqai in Japan. What a beautiful car.
Great video, but keep your hands on the wheel!
got mine coming in November👍👍
Amazing Feri! Hope you enjoy yours!
I would consider this but I am not sure it would fit in my garage

Any new car should have the new infotainment system Trolias 😀
@@holdcroftnissan3395 even if I order it 01/05 and I don’t leave in the uk?
I'm thinking to buy one is this got the auto hold system
Yes it does 😍
Good review👌
Glad you liked it
Hopefully mine will be coming November🤞
Fingers crossed for you!
Does it come with a spacesaver spare wheel. Living in rural area i get my fair share of punctures. Also how much is the vechile tax pef year ?
No spare wheel I'm afraid, you do get full European RAC cover instead, tax is the standard vehicle rate, currently £155 per year 😀

Any news on delivery? We are nearly into November and Nissan are very evasive?
They are coming through, we are expecting a large amount in November and December

Does the n connecta have a head up display?
It doesn't I'm afraid!
What price is the one in this video, the power train seems superb.
I think the electronics must be rather complex and reliant on much coputerisation. Ok as long as there are no glitches.

Can provide the specs does this comes only with 3 cylinders ?
the problem is this is it only comes with a 2kwh battery and no plug in

It is on you can see it in some shots, just from the camera angle makes it look like it isn’t

It is more efficient, you do need to learn a different style of driving to make the most of it!
Super! That's why i bought it ;)
