In this video, we are explaining the RATE ANALYSIS of EARTHWORK EXCAVATION
Session covers :
1. BOQ and AOR explanation ( Earthwork excavation: DAR no: 2.6.1)
2. Client Analysis of Rate and their standard output coefficient.
3. Contractor Rate analysis as per as Market Rate and CPWD AOR 2019
4. Time calculation to complete earthwork excavation with resources available at contractor site with respect to AOR output and coefficient.
which is very important for all civil engineers for the preparation of BOQ, at the time of tender bidding quotation time from the contractor side, and at the time of Bill Preparation.
Rate Analysis: It is a determination of construction work’s activities cost per Unit wise including the contractor profit+water charge + tax% + misc.
Earthwork excavation rate analysis on the basis of CPWD AOR 2019.
In this session, we describe a detailed analysis of Rate, CPWD 2019 in detail.
the standard output of Hydraulic Excavator = 30 cum per hour
standard working hours in a day = 8 hours
in 1 day total excavation = 8*30cum = 240 cum
for 1 cum, Hydraulic excavator will take how many days?
8 hours ( 1day )=240 cum
1 cum = ( 1 day /240 )
0.0041 day
10 cum = 0.041 day
for 10 cum excavation, Hydraulic Excavator takes 0.041 day
Why rate analysis is important?
Rate analysis is important because of the following reason:
1. Client required to do rate analysis for the preparation of BOQ (Bill of Quantities )
2. Contractor required to do rate analysis for the tender bidding or Rate quotation against the client BOQ rates
3. Contractor required to do rate analysis for the bill preparation time.
In rate analysis, we calculate the involvement of Material, Manpower, Machineries total cost including water, electricity charge +Contractor profit + tax + misc. as a grand total cost for particular activities following to divide the total grand cost of activity by total quantity of activity or item.

2. AOR ( Analysis of Rate )

My 2 queries are:
(i) When the 10 cum is already been excavated by machine then y deployment of labour for same qty of excavation is taken in calculation.
Work is overlapping when it is already done by machinery.
In item particular's its already mentioned mechanical means *or* manual means then why by both means it's rate is calculated
If done by machinery, dressing and loading excavated materials can be done by labours but u told in this calculation labours also doing excavation of 10 cum.
*1 work by both ways and adding up both ways, why not separately.*
(ii) Why Contractor profit is calculated after gst addition?
1.in excavation work done by means of mechanical also labours are also involved for compaction or deposition purpose.
Gst is not any profit it's tax imposition by the govt.
As a contractor side you have to considered as your contractor profit in every items as govt. /Client also includes the contractor profit in their rate analysis (BOQ) .
BECAUSE we are doing rate analysis also for bidding against client rates .

Exactly sir my query was same, its tax imposition by Government then why after adding up both (GST & Amount obtained from rates calculation) the contractor profit is lastly calculated over both. It would have been calculated on final rate amount obtained exclusive of gst.

8 hour daily excavator run hoga then 80 litre diesel consumption hoga aur uska cost @ ₹90 per litre=7200 aur govt excavator+ driver+diesel mila kar just 7000 deti hai???
According to your calculation
Working hour 8days avg.
Then excavator cost =8*12800=102400
Loader =8*8000=64000
Mate =8*(4*500)=16000
Coolie =8*(6*400)=19200
Sum of these
[102400+64000+16000+19200]=201600= घाटे का सौदा

for proper dumping of excavated soil
sir can u clarify Mate and coolie considered on which category of work .Mate and coolie for dumping (helper of machinery) or for some other work like dressing or for somewhere manual excavation required.if we considered this labour for machinery helper it is ok for taking an avg ,but if we considered labour perticularly for earth work,time calculation average will not work I think .because the coefficient for manpower and material will be different.

What is difference between AOR and SOR?
SOR stands for Schedule of Rates , In SOR government rates of item is given while AOR stands for Analysis of Rate in which how the rate of particular item came , the detailed rate analysis of particular item which will be given in SOR , In SOR only item rate is given but in AOR the detail rate analysis of that item will be.

Coefficient standard govt ka rakhte h rate market rate lgate h if you are working for contractor...but if you are working fr client rate govt ka standard lgate hain ,

1) What is the use of Mate and Coolie for excavation with excavator ? They are used only for the final surface dressing of soil. The excavator cant excavate upto the desired level with required accuracy. Then why are you consider 1000 cum or 10 cum of cutting for the Mate and Coolie ? Their volume of excacation should be much less than the volume excavated by the excavator, isn't it ?
2) You considered 4 Mates with 6 coolies. What is the function of a Mate ? To my knowledge, Mates don't excavate earth. They supervise the work. So, 1 Mate can handle about 30 - 40 Coolies. So, what's the use of 4 Mates with 6 Coolies ?

Gst % govern by Government of India not by us.

Why did government imposed 14% Gst ?
Different Gst % slab for different items that depends upon government.
