That’s great you’re planning to move back to Nepal. And I feel like it is still very much engrained in most Nepali people to live so close to nature, more so than other places. All the best to you!
Nice. Love those stone steps. I always marvel at the stone work in Nepal. All the terracing and stairs must = thousands of years of stone masonry excellence. Essentially an example of monumental utilitarian architecture !
Thanks so much for watching! And yes, the hand-made stone masonry work in Nepal is pretty incredible, and our Sherpa team did such an amazing job on our steps - utilitarian and beautiful!
Absolutely amazing. Great job - you both are doing such a great job. The fruit tree varieties are so rich and thriving. We have Japanese Persimmon here and it's a fun one! The rammed earth foundation is amazing to learn about. The steps look like a true labor of love and hard work. Your temporary home is lovely. I am so happy to see you both so happy. The privacy wall for the bathroom is my favorite. Thanks for the video update! A joy to watch!
Awww thank you so much for this sweet, supportive comment Natasha! And how cool you have a Japanese persimmon too, yum :) We would love to have you visit on our farm, so please come back to Nepal soon!
This is fantastic. Watching the video and other related to this from Ont, Canada missing home more than ever. Good luck to you guys for making good use of the soil while we all just try to leave it as soon as we get to our senses. Trully amazing!
Hi there Namaste, Could you please give us a general idea about the cost of building Ramped Earth house? It it more expensive and labourious than Concreate buildings which are common in Nepali cities or is it similar in cost or cheaper? If you don't mind roughly (range) how much did it cost to build your houses? Will be much appreciated, thank you
i bought anna apple and cherry tree from charile baba and it's going great. I hope to visit your farm soon. Please let me know when would you be in nepal
That's great that you got trees from Charlie Baba as well! How long ago did you plant your trees? Ours our now about 9 months in the ground, and also doing pretty well :) Would love for you to some day visit our farm!

Thank you Prajwol! And quite a bit of work has been done since my last video - hoping to post an update soon :) We haven’t quite worked out the final cost with the materials and taxes, but our contractor estimates approximately NPR 5000 per square foot, although this varies depending on location and road condition, etc. Hope that helps!
Hi Stephanie, really enjoyed your spring update video. The rammed earth house you’re building looks very interesting. I am currently living in sydney, originally from outskirts of Kathmandu city. As I am currently thinking to build a holiday house in Nepal, the type of house you are building really interest me. It would be really kind if you could tell me roughly how much does it cost to build 2 bed, one living and one kitchen one bathroom house? Price range is ok.
I'm from Nepal and currently I live in the UK. I'm also planning to move back to Nepal. This kind of video motivates us to live with nature.

How much cement have you mixed?
The ratio we used for the rammed earth is about: 75% soil, 20% gravel, 5% cement. Hope that helps!
More videos plz 👍
Thank you for following along, will try to keep posting as much as we can :)
