Behind the Camera of 'The Looking glass' is actually someone who accidentally vlogged his own mental health breakdown... Aaron also suffers from an addiction ( Alcohol is his poison )... You appear to be an amicable fellow who steps back to understand the full picture... i watch quite a few video's posted by various Auditors and street documentors because' not only do you learn of the streets but the perspective behind the camera ( The person naturally narrating )... It reveals alot more than what people might think... Aaron is a very lonely individual who uses his camera and audience for companionship... Sadly his only other companion is the bottle - As we all know there are no answers in the bottom of a bottle... only self destruction. Add a Live feed into the mix with the audience cheering him on and abusing also abusing him ( for live entertainment ) and you see' he is just as much a victim as who he points his camera at ( a sad irony ) and one that has helped destroy him and taken away his freedom. You should watch some of his last live video's before commenting as it starts getting very obvious that he is having a breakdown and abusing himself, putting himself in harms way on purpose.... you know that self harm comes in many forms and packages... He has paid the ultimate price for his behaviour... no one was there to steer him out of the storm... no one tried to pull his breaks and sit down with him to get him to see he was sliding into a dark place... he has no love... not from his friends... not someone to hold and keep him away from things that can consume you. What he did was wrong... but he was drunk... and suffering from PTSD from a violent attack he witnessed whilst live streaming... it was the last straw that sent him over the edge and looking to be beaten up... he actually threw himself in harms way to get hurt and waited to be arrested... i think it was a cry for help.... You must understand this' as you have been through times when the substance you used distorted you... I won't condone Aarons behaviour, But i pity him and have empathy... as you said... No one knows what its like until they find themselves struggling... he is no different than 'Mark in the wheelchair'...

Only watched one of his videos after the piccadilly gardens video Billy posted and you could sense there was a lot of anger and desperation there. Can't say it makes me feel a huge amount of sympathy for him, as he seemed to forget that he was interacting with and filming people with lives and stories. It would be good to avoid making the same mistakes he did though.
When you look at where you are right now to the places where you document back here in England it just leaves me thinking “where the fk did we go wrong and what’s left here in this once great country” Great podcast Billy, your humanity and understanding for less fortunate is a great attribute

Love your work billy. Always watching your daily videos. I'm in Glasgow Scotland and it boggles my mind how the government or councils can bring in foreigners give them a house feed them and a good base to start there lives. But we can't do this for our own people who have made some bad choices or lost there way in life and need that little nudge in the right direction. Don't get me wrong I do understand some just don't want this help because they are lost souls. But there's got to be a big % of homeless that could really be doing with this help.
There's plenty of help for every UK citizen. Various benefits, housing costs covered and free healthcare. There are thousands of outreach workers trying to help the street sleepers, addicts and mentally ill get the help they're entitled to. Like you've pointed out, some people just can't be helped or don't want help owing to the severity of their addiction and/or mental health issues.
Fair enough. Need to get more involved myself to see this for myself. It's always been a bug bearer of mine. And when you see the migrant hotels it just seems unjust to leave our own out. 👍

You have an empathy with the people you film. The Looking Glass guy takes the piss and is disrespectful. I worked in a night shelter in Exeter - most of the guys were great, there was a former teacher, an engineer, a mechanic who ran his own business, a former rock star who'd been in a band with a no 1 hit. Shout out to Hughie, from Glasgow, a real gent, and probably long dead.
I feel sorry for Aaron as a person. He has an addiction and clearly has no self confidence. However, he has been trying to make himself feel better by belittling homeless people and addicts in the vein of Veitch. Unlike Veitch, he is not a clever man nor is he friendly with the police like Charlie. He doesn’t know when to stop. I think a spell inside will help him. When he gets out he needs to stay clear of people like Charlie, Autistic Audits and the Goughs. He’s a chef, he has prospects and skills. By the way, the laws being used to prosecute the likes of Aaron are not new. They predate Starmer by 30 or 40 years. Part of the reason we are seeing a clamp down now is because people didn’t need to write racist bile on social media. They just had to read the Daily Mail or listen to Tory ministers. The impact of the type of bile Aaron spilled is what led to a mob of 700 people trying to or cheering other people who tried to, set fire to a hotel with 200 people inside AND block the fire escapes.

I've just returned form my local town (Carlisle) - where the state slaves (UK Police) have already banned protests and arrested patriot 'ringleaders' (one already having received a 2-year sentence for 'inciting hate' via facebook). Strangely, they (cops) were happy to oversee an 'anti-racist' protest in the town centre ... usual types: either local 'uni' students (all of whom sounded by their chants as if they hailed from well south of Milton Keynes) or the standard 'diversity' (purple-haired and dungareed) mob. These were lining up for selfie pics behind a 'diversity is beautiful' banner - Meanwhile, cops stood by is smiling approval - while looking out for 'racist' objectors. I don’t agree with riots at all. However it seems strange that the Manchester lads beating up the police still don’t appear to have caught any charges. But in a fraction of the time since that happened some people have been dawn raided, appeared in court, and been sentenced. Violence against people isn’t the answer and will only end one way. Got to ask the question though, why were the Muslims who took to the streets with swords, machetes and the like told by the police to “put the weapons back in the mosque” something not right about that. Sad times indeed.

Aaron went to a Migrant hotel while slightly inebriated and had a go at a few of the migrants through their room windows then had a little tete a tete with some of the workers. Just words and raised voices, no violence or anything

Love your work billy. Always watching your daily videos. I'm in Glasgow Scotland and it boggles my mind how the government or councils can bring in foreigners give them a house feed them and a good base to start there lives. But we can't do this for our own people who have made some bad choices or lost there way in life and need that little nudge in the right direction. Don't get me wrong I do understand some just don't want this help because they are lost souls. But there's got to be a big % of homeless that could really be doing with this help.
There's plenty of help for every UK citizen. Various benefits, housing costs covered and free healthcare. There are thousands of outreach workers trying to help the street sleepers, addicts and mentally ill get the help they're entitled to. Like you've pointed out, some people just can't be helped or don't want help owing to the severity of their addiction and/or mental health issues.
Fair enough. Need to get more involved myself to see this for myself. It's always been a bug bearer of mine. And when you see the migrant hotels it just seems unjust to leave our own out. 👍

You also need to follow the money that has been paid to the hotels to house asylum seekers for all these years. I don’t agree with riots at all. However it seems strange that the Manchester lads beating up the police still don’t appear to have caught any charges. But in a fraction of the time since that happened some people have been dawn raided, appeared in court, and been sentenced. Violence against people isn’t the answer and will only end one way.
Got to ask the question though, why were the Muslims who took to the streets with swords, machetes and the like told by the police to “put the weapons back in the mosque” something not right about that. Sad times indeed.
