What I Say/Shout - The Vibrations (1965) | Live on Hollywood A Go Go!

In honor of the late Ricky Owens Temptations Community, I would like to do an appreciation post for the talented, but underrated singer!
Yesterday would've been Ricky's 85th birthday and I thought of sharing a couple of footages of him singing with the Vibrations during the 60s and 70s. If you are a true Temptations fans, you would know this guy was a short-lived member of the Temptations. He was the first to replace founding member, also known as their first tenor lead singer, Eddie Kendricks in 1971. Unfortunately, due to his bad performance with the group, he only lasted a few shows and was fired from the Tempts. But I don't wanna do anything to put him down. Since there are no footage of him with the Temptations, here is a rare footages of Ricky performing with his group, The Vibrations. This rare footage of the Vibrations was when they were performing on 1960's show "Hollywood A Go Go!" in 1965, singing "What I Say/Shout." As you can tell, Ricky Owens was a very talented singer! I think if he was given more time and had enough confidence, he would've easily done a great job with the Temptations. He had the looks, voice, height, everything that you needed in order to become a Temptation.

I come here whenever I feel down and want to be closer to my grandma who passed away and she loved these songs so much and it’s what I grew up on and I’m 45 😅❤ anyways you always make my day 🥹❤

He messed up, he shouldve did this live with the temptations instead of being nervous. But Paul Williams helped him through it and with the crowd, but happy belated birthday
