Cadbury's truly hit the spot with this advert... I was shocked to see it was released 15 years ago. I still remember it like it was released last week 🤷
They hired Garon Michael, an actor with experience in costume work, but not drumming. He practised the Phil Collins solo endlessly to get the right sense of a creature that - as Cabral describes - “has been waiting for this moment all its life”. Filming took one day, editing another two
Its funny, its like the gorilla had been waiting to plsy these drums and release energy and reach a plateau of peace and energy. The performance is incredible
2:52 what we are waiting to see, the drum solo almost makes this song better. Phil Collins is the only artist who can sing this song, with his haunting voice.. it makes my heart pound as loud as the drums... got to be one of the greatest songs.
After waiting for Monke to play drums for nearly 3 minutes that part where he sings _”I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life!”_ hit me on a spiritual level.
Snickers should remake this advert but throw the gorilla a Snickers bar and say, "You're not you when you're hungry" and as the gorilla bites into it, he changes back into Phil Collins 😂
I came across this while watching reaction videos of this song. I LOVE this gorilla! Makes me think of KoKo, may she rest in peace. Wish I could give this video more than one thumbs up.
