For real. After my best friend betrayed me I really leaned on this album. There was nothing romantic between her and I but our bond was so strong and I went through so many mood swings after the loss of her that I really related to the album. It’s probably my favorite album

If there’s one thing that puts Tyler as an artist above damn near everyone else I like, it’s the relatability factor of his music. Some of the situations he’s been in especially on IGOR are extremely similar to situations I’ve been in in the past. His music shows that others go through the same things you do and you’re not alone. It just gives me a sense of comfort. I absolutely adore Tyler and his creativity and I can’t wait to see what he does in the future

this is why I love tylers early work, the gore and uglyness of his thoughts over a sweet upbeat “ LA LA LAAA LA LAA LAA LA” boasting the dark muddy mind of tyler. The friendzoned feel that comes from wolf and igor is uncanny.

at 8:40 the sound at the end of are we still friends is an unresolved note in the key of the song, meaning it doesnt return to the starting note of the key signature in the song... The bass sound at the start of igor resolves the key, representing that if they stay friends it will loop back around for igor having feelings for the boy... Its so cool how tyler added things like this into his music even if it is like nerdy music theory stuff its just that extra bit of immersion to the music

I relate with Igor a lot. The album feel very personal to me to an extent that it feels like it was tailored for me. I've been in a similar spot for more than a year now ever since I started developing feelings for my best friend

You forgot i dont love you anymore so ima talk bout it, idlya starts with muffled drums and some instruments i dont know, the way they blend together make a feeling you cant feel anywhere else, idlya has Tyler fully move on from his feelings, you can tell since he says “you wasted my time” and the way he says “i dont love you anymore” in the tone he does sounds like he really means it this time, near the middle of the track, he wants to know “where the time go” he repeats himself alot, ending it with “idlya” perfectly leading to are we still friends

Igor is such a god album. In the 3rd grade i realized that my dad plays flower boy and igor in our car on my way to school. My dad is the person who took me to the call me if u get lost concert and i thank him for that. Being friendzoned is something that i’ve sadly gone threw before and tyler always helped me with that. From the lyrics and even to the beat.

Went to Flog Gnaw back in 2019 when the album was released. Probably the best performance ive seen in my entire 23 years on earth. Ive never heard so many people chant lyrics like that. Not to mention his crowd control is just insane.
Honestly while I think you made some really good points, I think it's a bit reductive to just call it "friend zoned", there's a lot pointing to the guy IGOR is about having feelings back, but the thing keeping them apart is the love interests fear of homophobia and unwillingness to come out of the closet. A BOY IS A GUN* in itself has enough proof of this. The guy being over Tyler's house all the time in the video. We see them getting out of the same bed and dressing, implying Tyler was involved with this man. Sexually, romantically, however way, it was behind the scenes because the love interest was closeted, and Tyler was not. A BOY IS A GUN* lyrically is a cry for this guy to just accept that he's attracted to men and let him and Tyler be seen together, but he continues to be unwilling. If anything, my take as a gay dude is that the guy Tyler's seeing is leading on this girl to appear more heterosexual, so maybe people wouldn't suspect he was seeing Tyler. On the other hand though, Tyler refers to the girl as his "ex", so it's hard to tell. I know BEST INTEREST did not make the final cut of IGOR but the entire song is DEFINITELY just Tyler saying "Even if I have to suffer because of it I won't out you." His vow to keep that secret feels very deeply personal and something I'd only expect to hear from one queer man to another.
I don't remember exactly what they brought up, but the podcast "Dissect" has some very valuable insight on A BOY IS A GUN* including direct info on it from Tyler himself, rather than pure speculation. They do their research, anyone who deeply enjoyed IGOR should definitely take some time to complete the entire season on IGOR they did.
I don't care who IGOR is about or if my read of it is correct, I just wanted to share my ramblings. If you read this far thank you

New Magic Wand is the closest we'll get to a modernized version of his earlier dark stuff, in the best way ever. Its a song where he describes his jealousy, but it also leads to him almost describin how he'd get rid of her. Its also a perfected version of French! .
If Tyler had Igor like how Sarah or any weird and dark unreciprocated feelin tracks he has still that style, the album would've ended on New Magic Wand 😭😭😭
