Any introductory books that give you a broad overview are good
Ones that are often read (and were also recommended by my tutors as preparation) are:
- Thomas Nagel: What Does It All Mean? A Very Short Introduction to Philosophy
- Simon Blackwell: Think
- Tim Harford: The Undercover Economist
for philosophy any primary literature, so philosophical texts like Descartes’ „Meditations“, is also a good idea
