Yes breadfruit suppose to be ripe when roasting. You can also curry it with saltfish, it goes good with sada roti and coffee.

Looking good.....breadfruit and smoke herrings. Made me miss my mother and remember her cooking breadfruit in coconut milk and salted pigtail or stew fish. Yummy!

Should try it this way.Dig a hole rap it in silver foil and cover it back with dirt.Then set a bon fire over it.Play it by air when you think it’s done and dig it out.That way is less messy and less danger of being burnt

Yes Mr lyndon a very full breadfruit is needed roast potatoes roast plantain ripe and roast fish with home made garlic butter with a little grated cheese in the butter boy its the best thing wrap the fish in fig leaf then foil and roast and use a bbq fork to stick the bread fruit to peel it so you don't burn your hands. Nice food 😍👨👩👦 and nice family lime.

Breadfruit suppose to be ripe when roasting. And it should be roasted on a low heat. Better and sweeter that way. I ate a lot of it. My Both parents are from St Vincent so yuh don know

Donot take the stem of you have to rotate it on the fire. And and then you cut it in quarters cut off the stem and put home made garlic on it and roast fish it's the best thing ever.

This was you all first time so well done, next time make sure that the breadfruit is very full even better when it just about too ripens, and make sure all of the outside is burnt you not supposed to see no green or brown skin all of it have to be back i can tell by looking at it that it didn't cook properly,

Roast breadfruit is not only from Jamaica or St Vincent alot of country people do this...the breadfruit must be ripe and roasted on slow heat

Agreed. As a little girl living in Petit Valley, Trinidad in the 50’s roast breadfruit was a common thing. So it is strange to hear you refer to this as a Jamaican thing.
Ripe breadfruit is not the same as a over ripe breadfruit.I do not get that a ripen breadfruit be roasted.Experienced people knows when breadfruits are just ripe for cooking
@@precisetaxkennard6466 it doesn't matter if the breadfruit is ripe or not but when I say ripe .. I mean a full breadfruit but you can roast it either way it's up to u but it taste better when the breadfruit is full
