You dont have to peel the film off the eduard decals. They are already thin enough and with a laquer clear coat over top I have no issues with enamels or oil paints.
Sharks teeth & Invasion strips - can life get better - I doubt it! I think Eduard have some of the best box art, but this Royal Class box is disappointing -but the poster's cool fantastic - but I appreciate its all down to taste.
Decals work fine, they might not be as good as Cartograf in terms of sharpness but they work absolutely fine and settle down well if you don't remove the film. Personally I always remove the film and they look great, take washes really well.
@@TheHarvHR I've only used the new decals twice, and I'm still having trouble. I'm not convinced they can always be used as normal decals. On large areas of dark colors (Iron Crosses on Albatros D.V) the areas come pre-silvered! This is probably where the ink hasn't adhered to the carrier film. No amount of solvent seemed to solve this. I originally thought these were conventional decals, but then tried lifting the film and all was well! I was happy for a while, until large areas of the lozenge camo decals started lifting away with the film. After more research, I learned of using OMS to remove the film more gently. I tried this on my Tamiya F-4B and it seemed promising at first, but then parts of the ink started to come off with the film. I haven't given up on them (yet) but if you have any tips on getting perfect film/ink separation, I would love to hear them!
@@TheHarvHR the limited edition dual combo is the same difference, some of the same decal options, minus a patch and paper poster but costs around £50… a patch and poster is not worth £20…

I would love to see a mk1 Allison engined one .. The one with the nose guns .. that looks pretty nice in RAF colours
Allison Mustangs are my favourite too.
If Eduard would do Griffon Spitfires and Allison Mustangs I would buy a lot!
I dont know anyone who prefers their decals. Everyone wishes they still used cartograph. Shame because they always have amazing options
Completely agree with you Phil. The B & C model and Malcom canopied versions of the Mustang look the coolest!

Hate the decals of Eduard because mine (sopwith camel) were Trans Lucent like ink
I have one too it is a beautiful Mustang and a beautiful kit I noticed your clear parts did not come wapped mine were wrapped in phone

I stopped buying Eduard because of their decals… completely unnecessary change and for the worst.
Looks like I will be building a LOT of Eduard Mustangs! This is on order and will also pick up several 'Overtrees".

Everywhere I've seen it's £70. £35 per model for high quality plastic plus resin and PE? Seems fine
