I still love the the game, but you have it correct, the game rewards people spamming supers instead of doing combos.

Also I’ve had an epiphany they decreased combo longevity damage to force players to use less supers and use more light and heavy hits in combos, that why the combo on went up 10% more when it was awakened, it was because the amount of supers. But I guess even when you want to do a combo the only way people think they can do damage is with supers.

No juggling mechanics or anything, because they don't want pros to play this: they want kids who get a kick out of free, hyper-armored spam. Try doing a pure juggle combo with no supers and watch how quick the game immunes the guy you're fighting. It's sad.

It was literally created so that you'd get punished (via damage scaling and combo-immunity) if a super is not used in your combo, therefore translating to a lack of damage dealt. The game rewards you for spamming supers, not for executing combos.

the whole "not punishing the player when they didnt make a mistake" thing is actually highly debated.
in industry its called a negative feedback loop, the concept is common in party games, somthing along the lines of "if the player is doing to well the game assists the other players so the game is more even"

yeah in a 1 on 1 fighter giving the person in disadvantage the ability to with on move turn the tables so completely is an issue. bamco needs to go back to the drawing board with their fighting games.
it just needs management, tekken 7 did it well with the rage arts or specials, one go through any other move that isnt a whiff sort of becoming a super counter if your not a tekken player, and the other is a increased damage ability enhancing one particular special. but you can only do one of them and must be almost dead. Good mechanic.

When it comes to a competitive game where the tide can turn in seconds that shouldn’t be a mechanic cuz the loser lost cuz he was worse why should the guy will worse skill be assisted that makes games unfair he deserves to lose till he gets better. That’s like running track and the guy with a slower mile time gets to run half a lap less to make it “even”

Because lack of games for the property means a majority of fans'll buy it, regardless of quality.

It's the concept of selling one well made game whilst taking 4 plus years to develop (which with anime would result in a crazy outdated product story wise, unless you are using finished anime) or you could dish out a bunch of quick products with fewer sales but greater overall accumulating profit due to lack of development time. With that you could integrate small updates over multiple series and experiment with your customers to maximize profit gradually. This is why most recently created characters are in these games.... cause customers love CACS in their games, it allows for a more connected experience which results in a more consistent return of the otaku and anime consumer.

A good player should know when to accept defeat when he is outplayed.
To be honest, The only reason why I even still play anymore is because when you find a good match, it's a good match. But 9 time out of 10 you'll probably end up with a spammer or a guard break cheaser and it's just not fun knowing that the other person "ACTUALLY" thinks they are good even though they aren't.
Imagine if they spent time making these games like as much as fighterz or mortal kombat it would be awesome

If they made separate health bars for each character and balance it more then that alone would make the game so much better. Why the fuck do all 3 characters share a health bar? No other 3v3 game does that. It makes having teammates useless wtf. Fix that shit! This change alone alongside some other balance patches dealing with the stamina bar and escaping etc also the Scaling of damage would make the game so much better

You/Only/Live/Online sharing health bars should the last thing in mind, that's how they made the game, and it isn't breaking or decreasing its quality in anyway, because we got stupid stuff in this game which are actually worth fixing. Storm 4 didn't have separate health bars for each character either by the way. One health bar for all three is better that way for combos

I think if it really hurts you that much, then you definitely shouldn’t play it, but I also believe that the quality of this game as been extremely overexagerated. It’s not bad. In fact I’ve had as much fun playing this game with my friends as smash bros and mortal kombat. I’m not exaggerating.

grabbing in bandai namco games are always strong. They always have the most invincibility frames. Bamco doesnt seem to understand that when making these games. Same thing happens in Xenoverse

The point of high speed counters is to give the other players a chance if you can’t do it you need to practice
Jump force had so much potential to have added more details the fans would've loved. One example I came up with is that the more injured all might gets, the more skinnier he gets until he is in his distorted form. Attention to detail couldve helped the game alot but also fixing the game in general and nerfing bots cause damn those are extremely OP
I feel you I got back on nothing but cheeseing bro I saw no one with skill just cheese moves and cheese supporters
And then they have the nerve to tell you: "You're trash. Get good." So you rage, showing them you know lethal loop combos. But what do they do? Rage quit. Soon as you pop a combo (especially with Makoto), it's guaranteed 99.9% of the time.

I figured out jump force was trash the frist time i went head to head vs my friend...... the screen only rotates for the the number one controller...... essentially I'm playing backwards

Honestly... They need to drop the Jump Force fighting game shenanigans and go for a Jump Force Musou game... Just using your favorite characters to destroy hordes and hordes of enemies seems way more fun IMO!!

I just started to play a little bit of jump force for the first time and yeah the game is just like you said it's unfair most of the time.
Someone who does a mistake should get punished not rewarded.
It was released broken intentionally like how the first xenoverse was so they could improve it and come with a perfect second game. I refuse to believe they after making xenoverse 2 and ninja storm 4 they let jumpforce be this blocky unintentionally.
never played it but sounds like the game has too many bugs. also assists interrupting punishes is natural in a team fighting game. you should be rewarded for calling your assist at the right time but if you could hit the assist as well and combo the opponent and the assist then that brings the punishing factor of using assists carelessly. (i.e. UMVC3)
Just started playing this game and man your breakdown here of multiple broken mechanics is spot on. I wanted to love this game I did, but it’s just so horribly balanced not just with characters but with how the games rewards skill or lack there of. Glad I found your channel cause I needed to be sure my sanity wasn’t the only one suffering.
And then Law and Todoroki came out and was able to 100% you but combo’ing into fucking abilities with abilities
Todoroki is the only reason I even play this game. Doing combos with him is fun
