I loved how Monte said "That's not your daughter" when Mum said "It's not Cinderella". A lot of moms seem to forget that their little girl is just not so little anymore and maybe does not want to be a Princess anymore. I'm very glad she understood and could finally support her daughters' own voice (:
Exactly!! When my daughter went shopping for her wedding dress the lady ask what I wanted to see her in. I told her whatever makes her happy!! I knew she loved vintage, lace, dramatic backs, and buttons. My youngest daughter saw a dress and that ended up being the dress. We all cried she looked so beautiful. On her wedding day she smile was radiant. To see you child that happy on her wedding day is what makes her more beautiful.
T H I think he just meant that since the mom chose her clothes most of the time, the daughter choosing her own dress symbolizes her maturing more (and shes going to have to make a lot more decisions when married).

Candy Girl you are the reason people lose their confidence. do you know how hard it is for thin girls or bigger girls to wear revealing clothes? because of people like you. why bring others down about something they can’t control???
Also: I see a lot of people "complaining" about boring and old looking dresses and comparing it to Gok's version. Just a quick reminder that this is an episode from 2014. These are not the Newest SYTTD clips. The Lancashire version started airing in 2019 (:
When the show was filmed is only a small part of the problem. Stores have buyers who select what gets stocked and what isn’t 5,10,15 years ago and more, less dated looking dresses have existed, if a store has nothing but frumpy gowns is either because of the taste of the buyer, which in the case of bridal stores is usually the owner, or the terrible choices reflect the taste of their average customer.
Honestly that dress looks lovely and classy. I would wear that if I: 1. Could afford it. 2. Were preping for my wedding 3. Was engaged 4. Slimmed down a bit.
I went to a Philadelphia bridal show and fell in love with a very very expensive but absolutely beautiful wedding gown....so I asked which local bridal shop would carry it in Southern NJ...I tried it on and shocked everyone when without trying on anything else I ordered...no hassle no mother or anyone but me and it worked out perfectly...I even selected my bridal parties gowns but came back another week to make sure my girls liked them...I didn't want them stuck with something they hated...everyone was pleased and a stressful situation was resolved...this was 50 years ago...I wish most of these young bride's could stand on their own two feet a d

It's really disgusting and demonstrates a total lack of emotional maturity and boundaries. Amazing how so many people can make it to such an age and still have no more sense than they did when they were born.
Especially nowadays. There isn't the same social pressure that there used to be to fit nicely into traditional gender roles and looks. Either way, this bride-to-be still looked beautiful and womanly in the end.

She looked so beautiful and I believe it’s because we let her pick what she wanted. What made HER feel like a princess. I knew it was the one when she came out in tears.

My choice was easy; I wanted to wear my Grandmother’s dress from whenI was little. I was lucky enough to fit into and even luckier that she let me have it.. We added a 1m train in ivory satin and it was everything I dreamed of. I was also blessed to be able to have my mother-in-law’s mother’s engagement ring as my own so both families are intrinsically woven into my weeding memories.
