Thank you both for this marvellous performance. An amazing piece by Beethoven, one of the first I believe to be written for horn and piano. To me there are points for discussion, arising in this performance, to which I do not know the answers. The use of the natural horn with the modern piano is interesting, makes me ask the rationale. The horn itself appears to have a terminal crook, I believe Punto’s horn had the crooks within the body, with a fixed mouth pipe. Is there any significant difference for the performance of solo works I wonder? My questions do not reduce my appreciation of this most nuanced and wonderful performance by Mr Koster and the accompanist!
Prachtig Ab ( mede door jou toedoen - ik was nog een snotneus toen ik je wachtend op de gang hoorde spelen en toen al onder de indruk was ! - ben ik jaren na het afsluiten van het UM diploma bij Vincente Zarzo natuurhoorn gaan studeren, om twee jaar later aantekening natuurhoorn af te ronden, veel plezier aan beleeft )
