    Nice video, as always.
    I'm a little thorn/confused regarding a charger that will be left plugged in (with a cable, behind a furniture) between the [many] Ankers you reviewed and the Leviton (in wall)...
    What would be your recommendation?

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Leviton T5635 isn't a bad option. I have seen other in wall USB port systems fail quite frequently though so that is a risk factor. Idle power isn't bad on that Leviton unit (so not expensive to leave it on) and it can deliver 30W over PD 3.0. I guess one disadvantage is you can't take it with you. Without a 20V mode it won't charge laptops and things so a 45W or larger Anker adapter will handle a larger swath of devices. I think I'd go with the plug in power adapter.

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No difference, iphone 13 maximum charge rate is about 20 watts. The pro max variant can do 27 watts. The phone limits the charging speed internally so it will only charge at a rate that is safe. There is some research on charging faster reducing battery life, the question is if it is actually worse than a normal charge cycle on its own at the power level for an iphone. Unless you are apple that answer is not available.

    Hello,
    I have a question for you my friend.
    I want to buy 1 charger (along with type c cable) for every thing.
    But I am confused...
    My main devices are Samsung s23 plus, Asus vivobook 15 leptop (I have pd adapter up to 100w), and other simple devices by the use of adapters (micro usb and lightening).
    The problem is that
    I tried to use my simple 25w charger from Samsung (just type c output) to charge several simple devices such as jbl flip 3 speaker, chep small vacuum cleaner and airpods 2. And nothing worked....
    But when I use my old Samsung 15w fast charger with type a (i have adapter from type A to type c) its charging!
    Maybe its because of the amps that the 15w charger has and the 25w doesn't have? (1.67A and 2A)
    What is your recommendation in this matter?
    I like the anker (nano ii) 45w,65w, and the KUULAA 65W GAN
    Thank you!!!

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah it is a common problem to find some adapters that don't work with certain devices. 15 or 25W could be a different protocol, some devices also expect non-smart USB as well, those devices won't charge from a more modern power adapter. Some also use QC and put a USB C port on the end device for convenience but don't label it properly. The first step is checking if everything is USB PD compatible. The next step is checking if the devices require variable voltage PPS or PD fixed voltage modes or even QC charging. Depending on the mode or modes required then pick a charger that meets as many as possible. You may have to go with a two port 30+ watt charger with a USB A and C port so you can charge the USB A QC compatible devices and USB C PD compatible devices with one charger.

  • @stellarproductions8888
    @stellarproductions8888 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes, if someone just needed to charge a low watt phone or other low watt device, this charger makes sense. But in these modern times, I'd have to believe, that most people would just buy the 65W chargers for their phones and tablets. And now that higher power delivery is available for notebook computers, 100W is quickly becoming the new standard. So, I just don't see these lower 30 watt and 45 watt chargers being a thing for much longer to be honest. Especially now that they are talking about 250W becoming the next biggest standard coming up.

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the lower power chargers will always have a place, and due to cheapness and size will continue to outsell their larger counterparts for a long time. It would be nice to see some improvements on the lower end devices since a lot of devices spend a lot of time at

    I am going to get one for my Lenovo Thinkpad T14 G3 so I have a light adapter. I'll test to see if it can correctly power it from empty, through charging and then just to provide power for normal use. Should not be a problem but who knows? While the laptop can use basically any adapter that has PD to charge in OFF / sleep state, I tested with my Nintendo Switch adapter that provides 39w and 15v and it seems it runs fine and charges enough but I don't know if running on 15v instead of the usual 20v for the Thinkpad will result in any long term problems for the battery and / or the charging system.

      @AllThingsOnePlace  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It if charges with a Switch adapter, I'd expect this to work fine. Yeah, typical laptop batteries are 11.1V nominal so really a 15V charger should work as long as the power supply in the laptop can handle the extra current on the input side, which with low wattage should be fine. Thanks for sharing!

The phone charger in the car is a USB-C to USB-C that only does 5v (max 3A) and it does charge the laptop. I think this kind of laptops have a more complex power supply that can also up the voltage as this does not work with an Ideapad laptop for instance.

      The Samsung 45W chargers have the most charging modes of anything I've seen. They are single USB-C port but plenty of cables are available for whichever "B" port may be needed. In terms of a one size fits all, it really depends on the device. For example, my phone wastes any capacity above 18W (max usable charge rate it supports) but I have other devices that use more. For multi-port, the market is starting to fill up more now hopefully will start to see some better options soon.
