yep no gutters. it will make it look too busy. i got my fingers crossed. dogs & people's feet messing with that frontage. time will tell if thats an issue or not.
It's absolutely beautiful! I love the curves with the strong, black modern verticals. Not sure why, but I think gutters would take away from the overall look in this installation (usually I love them).
Looks great Laura, now I see the part the agave plays in the installation. The owners are gonna be bringing their lawn chairs down and sitting on the sidewalk to enjoy this beautiful coral reef! 🥰
I think this is one of my favorite installations ever! How you changed the rock TOTALLY made it! Brilliant! I actually flew in to San Diego on Vday for business on a layover. Totally thought of you guys when landing and was so sad I didn’t have time this trip to come and volunteer 😭. But it was so pretty. I flew in around sunset and it was so pretty and cloudy and moody with the weather. I’ll email you a picture. You really do live in the land of milk and honey.
Another great reveal and project. The selection of the black small lava stone was a good choice. Enjoyed the add on of showing us the rock selection. I live near the PB Boulder and Stone location and had no idea the Chula Vista location had so much more to choose from!
I love the idea of the gutters but placed on the fencing at the top of the stairs. I love the contrast of the black fencing, the white wall, then the colorful tapestry of plants on the front. Just beautiful as it is! A gutter on the upper fencing would be a gorgeous focal point of plants on it's own. I wish I had that beautiful yard to look at on a daily basis! Laura eubanks and team making the world an even more beautiful place one home at a time.
For a minute you had me saying noooo don’t get rid of your plant ,but then you said it was a swap so I feel better. That jade boulder is amazing ! Have you used in any installations?Love everything.
I Love ❤ how the Coral Reef installation turned out! Like a "jewel box." I'm thinking don't change a thing!🤌 Looking from the street directly at the whole picture. I see gutters going beautifully on the fence along the the walk up to the house.
Oh my goodness! Loving this installation! Small and mighty. I don't believe the city water pipes are particularly noticeable. ... and Laura, the "naturalized" ribboning is the bomb!!!
Vote YES on concealing the shut off valves. Installation looks great. How will the gutters contribute to the "coral reef"? Loved the tour where you bought the stones.
Outstanding! The more casual placement of the stone ribbons was a good call. I can live with the faucet especially knowing that plant growth will eventually hide it but I would like the doggie welcome sign to be removed. Maybe a series of colorful fishes undulating along the bed!! Very generous of you to give up your E. trigona but I get it!! It does look so much better!
Wow Laura. I’m so ver impressed . . . all in the name of art and fulfillment of an idea from thought to reality. AMAZING work ethic !!! Priceless @j@ no $$ can match that - priceless. It’s a mark of SUCCESS heartfelt dedication and devotion to the world of design and serenity. ❤️
Laura and crew, you all did another fantastic job! Love this reveal and all the rock work! Just wish you were closer to me. My backyard is an open landscape just waiting to be painted with a beautiful design!
Congrats! It's absolutely beautiful. The topdressing made it, to the contras colors at the wall. I like the wall it's very sophisticated and styles. You are realy a stylest, you are always looking for the best solution, not the easiest way as usely people do. I liked the Stone place you went too. Very beautiful stones, Im a stone fanner. It looked lie a peace of paradice, for me to see it all.
Had no idea how great the black rock would accentuate all the other rocks and plants. It contrasts well with the white wall and almost matches the fence color to a tee, T or is it tea? Looks super awesome!
Many succulent-garden designs feature a sea-scape mural behind the garden setting itself. The painting of the sea-scape amplifies the coral reef sensation, especially when the garden features many coral-like plants, such as cristate cacti, Euphorbia Tirucalli, and anemone-like Echeverias among many others.
Agreeing with all the positive comments!! I notice looks of comments regarding not using gutters. I wondered about that too but you're the expert. I'm thinking maybe a rustic metal octopus, starfish, or other marine animal (s) playing into the ocean theme. Also don't hide the shut-off valves for two reasons. First as I was admiring your gorgeous work, my peripheral vision hardly noticed it and when I did, it looked more like a portion of a figurehead or other part of a ship that had sunk. I truly did think that before I saw any of these comments. The other thing is that if the city comes into use them, they'll just knock succulents out of the way to get to what they have to get to. Just my thoughts. Just love the way it turned out!
This is a beautiful coral reef! Nailed it with all the choices👌 I prefer no gutters agreeing with others comments of cluttering and taking away from the reef. Some planting of green behind the fence in the front courtyard would soften the top of the fence line though
Thanks for the additional tips. The trigona switcheroo is the best solution, of course. Gutters maybe on the inside of the fence? On the street side it almost like you are taunting the neighbors' designs. IMHO too much of a good thing above your great design!
It looks great! I think the taps and pipes look industrial and cool (besides they’ll be hidden by plants soon) but I do vote no this time on the gutters on the black fencing
3/8 inch black lava is easier to maintain because you can use a blower to blow debris out. The 3/4 holds the detritus in place to where you have to hand pick it out. A hard lesson to learn. No gutters, that would be hard to maintain and it would make what you did look like clutter. Less is more. Just sayin.
Oooooo! Gutters on the wall! That would look so cool if the gutters were painted the same shade as the wall.. Like they were just magically hanging from the wall somehow, if that makes sense.
Another killer installation! I wonder if you can paint the water pipes white, or if the City would have an issue with that. I'm loving the black rock with the charcoal fence color... the plants just go "BAM" and stand out from the darker colors! Im not sure about the gutters, but it does seem like a missed opportunity to leave the fence as-is. Especially because I'm sure cars parked on the street will block the view of the gorgeous installation. Why not add something that can be seen regardless if a car is parked out front. Im thinking 2 perfectly spaced rectanglar wall planters hung horizontally might look better because they would mimic the boxy house design and 2nd story windows. I cant wait to see what the homeowner decides!
Love it. I kinda like the clean black and white background behind it too. The black 3/8ths, is that the same as black cinder? Our black cinder hear in Hawaii tends to fade. Either that or I just don’t put enough of a layer.
great ideas!! love the 'relaxed' look of the ribbons, it does look very "undersea".... and the water spigot thingy looks fine to me; i hardly notice it because i'm busy looking all the plants... fun trip to the rock yard, thanks for that! woohoo! another fantastic art installation done
I’m with you. Ignore them. The more one tries to hide utility objects, the more they scream! And risk the city destroying plants trying to access. Been there, sigh.
Another fabulous installation!!!! I agree with removing the Welcome dog stick. Doesn't fit wit the coral reef theme. The pipes seem to fit the color and theme of the installation . The succulents will be covering them soon enough. How kind of you to give up your Trigona. Looks great with the added height. Undecided on the gutters. Might make it too cluttered.
Loving the tiny black rock! It looks grey on camera and matches the wall above perfectly. Another wonderful installation!
I vote no on gutters. Right now it looks elegant, gutters will make it look cluttered. Restraint is the word of the day.
Turned out great Laura and crew! Not crazy about gutters there though. I think it looks great as-is.
Agree! Gutters would be too linear and harsh the undulating vibe. Love the small black top dressing!
yep no gutters. it will make it look too busy. i got my fingers crossed. dogs & people's feet messing with that frontage. time will tell if thats an issue or not.

Didn't notice the faucet until you pointed it out, so condos to your coral reef look
It would be nice if at the end of EVERY video you would do a split screen of the before and after of the space you just finished!
Great camera work Hannah. Loving the longer shots and final shot of the garden.
Looks great Laura, now I see the part the agave plays in the installation. The owners are gonna be bringing their lawn chairs down and sitting on the sidewalk to enjoy this beautiful coral reef! 🥰
I love when you take us to the rock yard 🥳 💚💚💚
Ha quedado espectacular. Todo combina perfecto. El intercambio de la euphorbia fue un buen detalle. Felicitaciones 😀👍🏽👏🏽
Love the end result, that driftwood piece looks so good against the black rock. Packed of plants, beautiful! 😍
I think this is one of my favorite installations ever! How you changed the rock TOTALLY made it! Brilliant!

The random rock work is the best. It looks cooler than a tight ribbon here. Also your taller trigona looks great. Really interesting install.
the faucet looks like a part of a sunken ship.
For a minute you had me saying noooo don’t get rid of your plant ,but then you said it was a swap so I feel better. That jade boulder is amazing ! Have you used in any installations?Love everything.
Another beautiful job.
Love the jade boulders
So pretty

You should get a couple of those beautiful jade stones for the coral garden
I love this look!!! So simple, but fabulous! Way to go Laura! It definitely added "pop" and "interest" to this home!
Outstanding! The more casual placement of the stone ribbons was a good call. Love all the installations you always create an spectacular view of combination of succulents.
Another win! Turned out gorgeous but not surprised!
Was just about to go to bed but I need to see this reveal!! haha
Thanks for following😊
Laura and crew, you all did another fantastic job! Love this reveal and all the rock work! Just wish you were closer to me. My backyard is an open landscape just waiting to be painted with a beautiful design!
Looks amazing and the gutter plants will complete it hope they say Yes!
Love the final result! I do want to see that jade boulder again!
Congrats! It's absolutely beautiful. The topdressing made it, to the contras colors at the wall. I like the wall it's very sophisticated and styles. You are realy a stylest, you are always looking for the best solution, not the easiest way as usely people do.

Yay! LOVE IT. And thanks for telling us where we can go admire it in person. We will take advantage...
Nice Garden!
Stunning! I love small garedens..

Love it!! 👏👏👏
Another amazing job 😍
Thankyou for showing us through the rockyard..I need to find something like it in Melbourne
Your swap of the trigona is perfect too!
Spectacular! Love how you scattered the different rocks! Yes on the gutters for sure! Would be the cherry on top!
Love all your work Laura ❤️
AMAZING!!! soooooooo pretty!!

Also, get rid of the welcome sign; move it to a different spot. It clashes with the ocean theme.
Amazing!!!!!
Looks sooo amazing
Love it… 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️😍
It's fabulous
I love it!
Loved your tour and coral reefs ,block rocks overall no words to say just beautiful 😍
In all respect, no gutters to compete with the beautiful planting below.
Beautiful! No to the gutters.
Laura you are probably aware of the Southwest boulder and stone on Santa fe st, in Pacific beach.
This is a beautiful coral reef!
Nailed it with all the choices👌

It's gorgeous!! My sister lives a few streets away, and I'm going to send her to see it!
Beautiful 😻

Looks great! Except my ocd prefers the ribbons instead of scattered rocks.
AMEI LAURA! FICOU LINDÍSSIMO,GRATIDÃO.

Sizi izlemek çok keyifli iyiki varsiniz
No gutters for me. Love the installation but that wall/fence are a great contemporary backdrop.
The plumbing …No Problem, Life is Ewal!
👍💛

Great little Eeef design!,
It will only improve !
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩👏👏👏
Hi there, thank you for share this, could you please let us know the address of this place, thank you again

👋😃
Have you ever had anybody steal any of your plants in a installation?
Rarely, but occasionally something walks off.
Can't you paint the faucet white?
Nope.
NO gutters on black fence. It would take away from the planting . Walking by the eyes would go to the gutters & skip the plants. Too much. MY opinion.
