Cape York Part 1 - Daintree via Bloomfield Track and onto The Lions Den Hotel

- After some ordinary weather that prevented us from going diving on the reef. We headed off across the Daintree River into Cape Tribulation. We were lucky enough to be escorted by Sister Ilene of the Wujal Wujal people. She showed us around for the day on the Bloomfield Track. She was a wealth of knowledge and there was a lot she educated us on. Showed us a few cracking sites as well as giving us an insight on what life is like amongst the oldest rainforest in the world and how much the land and protection of it has massive effects on wildlife and waterways.
We ended up at the Lions Den Hotel late in the afternoon for some beverages, live music and to set the tents up for the first time. this was the beginning of our adventure.

Here I am listening to those Endeavour Falls just outside my camper and what a beautiful caravan park this is. Brent, the owner, is such a top bloke! A few days and then we’re off to the Daintree NP, Bloomfield track and then Battlecamp Rd and on upwards to the tippy top. There’s about 50km of bitumen nth of Laura now so it’s an easy first part of the PDR.

Hey Casey... I did reply to this but I noticed it hasn't come up. But anyway yeah we moved to Mackay after this trip and have managed to have a quick look at Bowen again. Great spot. We'll be spending a weekend there again sometime.
