They originally made the Stonehenge as a cool background for a music video. They didn't have video yet, but at least they were able to build the henge.
I like the thought of it being a massive stone-age prank, but I'm going with a dinosaur "playpen". I actually got a serious case of the giggles at Suzi cracking up at the question, "Who the f**k builds a stonehenge?"!! So glad you guys enjoyed it. I didn't realise that the Ylvis duo are actually brothers. They achieved fame by hosting a Norwegian talk show and the fox song was done for an episode of this show. But then it went crazy viral and primarily did appeal to children. But on the whole, their other musical numbers are not intended for kids at all lol
They achieved fame within Norway way before that, they have been active since teens/early 20s. But outside of Norway it was with the «what does the fox say» 😊
Actually the song was written in response to their music manager wanting them to write a catchy tune much different than what they normally performed (this is directly from their mouths by the way not an assumption or guess) and they responded by writing a song they thought would be intentionally dumb and dislikable but it backfired them into international recognition. Sucks?
Haha.. I seriously think that the theory about it being an unfinished DIY projects is by far the most sensible theory I've ever heard.. haha.. great thinking 😂
Have you guys checked out Frogleap Studios on youtube? He creates awesome metal covers of well known music. He is also Norwegian like Ylvis :) I really love his cover of Sultans of swing!
Ylvis were a viral mega-hit around the same time as Psy had 'Gangam Style'. They established that massive view count that became the goal of every video. It was right before record labels started buying massive amounts of views through third world clickfarms.
And the longest and shortest day. And the phases of the moon. However, that theory has been questioned in more recent times. Nobody has ever been certain, and now nobody knows what to think.
