Haji Sahab, you have said it right about the irregularities in our Idaras and the double standards of our Ulama. But frankly, it is required for our Ulama to warn people against supporting the oppressors. You cannot downplay it. Yes, the same ulama have done a lot of unacceptable things and are not doing their work properly on many issues. I agree with that. But the opposition to BJP is compulsory for every just human, let alone a Shia of Ali. Agha Mehdavipour might've said that Leh has developed a lot in the past few years, and that we have to co-operate with the hukumat. But you have to consider nuances here. There is a difference between the state and the government. Secondly, you can ask any Balti family in Kargil how intelligence agencies have kept them under surveillance. Agha Mehdavipour cannot just go to Ladakh and say whatever he wants. The maraji are definitely contacted by the intelligence to regulate their influence and the activities of their representatives, particularly those of political maraji like Rehbar. Third, even if Agha Mehdavipour meant what you're saying, and that he intended to say the same, his words or those of any Aalim cannot have greater authority over us than the explicit narrations coming from the infallibles (s.a) regarding opposition to oppressors and not leaning towards them, as explained by the likes of Ayatollah Dastgheib Shirazi for example. Our Ulama warning people against supporting BJP should be primarily seen in isolation. I am a hardcore supproter of Islamia School, but I appreciate Sheikh Lutfi and Agha Umba for saying those things, even though I remain disappointed with them for everything else. The fact that these Ulama have done many things wrong, doesn't mean that they should not warn us of such things. They may have not conveyed the message properly in rhetoric, but the core message remains valid and important. May Allah guide us all.
