It makes me forget all the pain and reminds me of all the friends and family i lost along the way ((in a good way)). Getting old aint east but listening to these records help. Indeed, and it all started with Platoon movie using this score. I was a metalhead back in the day but this score and remix by Ferry, the extended sections add a lot to the buildup into the main section, the type of sounds, it really adds to the drama and melancholy in the song. So well executed, I never skip it on the 90's playlist :)

It doesn't get any bigger than this. William Ørbit at his prime, Ferry Corsten at his prime. It's the collaboration of dreams. It's the defining trance track of the late 90s. And it's stuck in time as being one of the finest trance tracks ever. It's as simple as that.

I'm still listening my friend. Can you imagine what was like hearing this song in the end of a live techno set in 2003?It was amazing.Listening to this on a dancefloor,it gives me goosebumps just remembering that moment
I've been saying this since that douche started making other producer's tracks as if they were his creation: Ayla is a good example - he labelled as his own. They should have simply called it "Ayla - Tiesto mix" because that's all it was and, it actually didn't change much from the original, sounded the same. He is the David Guetta of Trance music 😂😂😂🤦♂️.
Bellissimo mix,di un periodo che mi fa tornare in mente quando questa musica ne faceva da padrona.chi ha vissuto quell'epoca può capirmi!Capolavoro❤❤❤classe1975!
One of the best remixes of all time. Like all of the best music has the perfect mix of uplifting and sadness and can effect you differently at different times.
Time can pass. People come and go. New genres form and die out. But this song will always take me to a place no other song can. 2021 is the year mankind will dance to this music once again together.
Nothing has beaten this since and how could it. It's particularly ridiculous at 4:55 when the beat disappears briefly and it all changes around. My timestamp is no use, you have to hear it in context. If I was Ferry making this I'd be like holy chit man, WTF have I created!
WOW What a great tune, they certainly don't make trance tunes like this, in my opinion Ferry Corsten was ahead of his time when he collaborated with William Orbit to produce this classic, brings back memories certainly.

Now I've never been a morning person till this track hit me as a wake up one morning.......also I used to go for a drive at night and find a place to chill as my ex was a real mind gamer, and this would be the perfect soundtrack while I was looking up at the sky....... Needless to say I'm still listening to this anthem and it still gives me goosebumps.
Can we agree that both this and Tiesto’s remix are good (even though this is slightly better). At least Tiesto’s attempt was 1000000 times better than what he makes today
@@marcoc33 what makes you say that? I’m generally interested in why you think that (general question no contradiction btw). Also I kinda agree. Just he was an absolute brilliant album. Amazing songs but I always felt it’s where he peaked. Songs like “dance 4 life” and “elements of life” never did it for me too much and always seemed liked they were never as good to the expectation of 2004. But that’s just my opinion. However, I understand what you mean about adagio for strings. It was very mainstream compared to other songs and probably was what pushed him to wanting to be more mainstream, being in the spot light kind of thing
@@arjunsk1924 for me, it had commercial success and got played on mainstream radio stations, which got him a new audience. The music that followed, in my opinion was more suited to the new audience and radio.
@@marcoc33 that’s exactly what I thought. Early songs like suburban train, flight 643, lethal industry, etc were long Melodic songs suitable for the ravers (people who enjoyed the journey of the song). The songs after 2004 always appeared to follow more of a “catchy beat” which is what the radio wants. It seems they were possibly an experiment to see how far they could push towards a new audience before completely switching all together. Also tiesto is more of a brand (which has been spoken about in recent times). So I personally think that is was more of a business decision, rather than a direct decision from Tijs (DJ Tiesto) which left to a complete cut off from trance altogether. I’m 17 and it’s sad to see the music industry where it is now, many soulless songs like “dance monkey” which people claim to be the best thing since sliced bread. Everything is too generic, the same and too basic, nothing sparks something new and exciting. The plot of these new songs is basically a basic beat with lyrics based on love story’s, sex, gangsters and fake shit.

I've blown up a few sets of speakers because of this tune. If a set of speakers can handle the Base on full volume then you know you have a good set. Best tune ever made
Never play at full volume, all speakers will be destroyed due to the amplifier clipping and distorting. When the sound quality starts to sound harsh and bad you should always turn down the amplifier to where it sounds crisp and clear again. This can be a costly mistake that plenty of people do trying to squeeze the last little bit of power from their set up. I don't get why some prefer to listen to their music when it sounds terrible.

Each speaker has an 18 inch driver. I always took the bass spike @ 15% that can occur hence I never really needed to push my speakers to the limit. I would ALWAYS have my amp volumes up to max, restrict the sound going to them at the back of my mixer by 20%, that way - if I got a bit heavy handed on the pre-fade gain, I know I'd never blow my speakers up, have clipping/amps shutting down etc. My H&H's are a bit battered and bruised after 33 years of ownership, they're sat in my cubby hole gathering dust, but they still work and they've paid for themselves hundreds of times over.
