I will have to say that Mimsy’s one redeeming quality is that she gave a lot exposition to Alastor’s past, and considering how closely guarded and secretive Alastor is, fans eat up any Alastor lore dump they can get their hands on.
For your information. Angel didn't save Niffty from Val, he accidentally saved Val from Niffty. But, he was earnest in his desire to protect Niffty, so all good.
My favorite also goes to Alastor. A creepy yet well written character. And when you get him mad, be prepared to see that grin become more vicious as he transforms
@@theundying_ i wouldn't call him well-written, but interesting in the way he behaves. he's an immensely charismatic and cordial gentlemen, but that persona is a facade; he always carries a sense of insincerity, and he's petty and cruel, coming off as a "delightful villain" archetype with the way he toys with and manipulates people. he's also mysterious and from my experience, people _love_ mysterious characters. that mystery element alongside his more courteous manner is what made him stand out more from others in the cast (especially given how openly vulgar many other characters are.) there's an odd kind of elegance and ambiguity to him i honestly don't see in the other characters. which again, i don't think one can call it well written per-say, it's just that he's written in a different manner that makes him more appealing
What I love about Angel's arc is that, from the very start, we are shown he has a soft spot for his friends under the horny, snarky asshole gimmick. In the Pilot, he is seen outwardly ridiculizing Charlie's plan and trying to make excuses for himself for....ruining it, mostly because he likes to make Vaggie mad, but when he notices how actually sad his actions and jokes were making Charlie...he immediately felt bad. Sure he quickly covered up and went his merry way, but the glimpses where there. In ep 1 he is the only one besides Charlie and Vaggie that gets pissed at the commercial being cut off. In ep 2 we have multiple moments- first seeing how Charlie sidelining him and actually believing in someone else (Sir Pencious) DID hurt him and his insecurities- and in the end, he was ready to protect the Hotel from the Vees's spying plan shit. In ep 3 he is the one to, ironically enough considering the last ep, save Sir Pen from the territorial war, and drag him back home. In ep 4 he did everything he could to protect Charlie from Valentino- EVEN when *he* was getting beaten up. And of course, all his scenes with Husk during/after Loser Baby. In ep 5 he is seem in the background silently supporting Charlie when she calls her dad- and seemed rather touched when she mentioned how she cares so much about the Hotel. Also, he saves Nifty from a piece of debris when it's attacked. In ep 6- well, every scene with Nifty basically lmao the highly being "I don't want them to end in the gutter like I used to." In Ep 7, at the end, he is the one that pulls both Pen and Husk close when they start talking about how they won't leave the Hotel. In Ep 8- multiple instances. His bedroom's door being covered on his friends's photos. Him playing wigman for Sir Pen, saving the Eggboy, all his cute little scenes with Cherry in the background, him being the second most affected by Pen's death after Charlie, and his hand being the one Charlie takes in the final song. In other words- man is everyone's best friend whenever he wanted to or not.
Valentino is underrated, to any angel dust stans who disagree, you cant say he's a bad character just because he is evil. He contributes a lot to the story and makes angel dust's backstory more interesting. Angel dust would be boring without him. Also he's an excellent villain and a perfect member to be part of the vees. He was created to be hated so by any of you hating him it just proves that's he's a good character. Honestly, Alastor and Charlie have to be tied for my favourite character. I love everything about Alastor, but Charlie is just too adorably innocent for her not to be my favourite.
Alastor* Lucifer’s compelling story is being a terrible neglectful father who hates his people. But hey, he showed up so now we collectively forget that’s he’s damn terrible. Lucifer can’t even creep into the battle on time, nearly killing his daughter. The guy who can’t rule for shit. The guy who did nothing for his daughter until some sinner challenged him into stepping up for once. He can’t even pretend to be supportive and is rude for no reason, until he suddenly switches at the last episode in the typical Vivziepop fashion. Be fr. 🤣
1:30 if I were to remove mimzy from the episode. I would have had Charlie step in a break Alastor and Lucifer up before they actually start fighting. instead of Mimzey. have Charlie just be like. "lets. call down a smidge" or somthing. and for the Lone sharks. well this came right after ep 4 so they mabey were mad that Husk and Angel Dust killed a bunch of them so they found them at the hotel.

Even though Alastor is very manipulative to Charlie and everyone, its clearly hinted at in episode 8 that he's starting to care about everyone just a little. And his panic attack causes him to re-distance himself from them so he won't possibly grow attached and keep his eyes on his original plan. But obviously we're all hoping this changes because a lot of us want him to be redeemable in the end.🤞
Top three in order for me, I gotta give husk #3, he's such a great character with a lot of charm and love to offer. Plus HUSKERDUST DUHHH‼️ #2 for me is definitely Lucifer. Jeez just from the moment he came in screen with his rubber duck invention I absolutely ADORED HIMMM! He's so sweet and he gets awkward really easy. He's also iconic yet so relatable! And finally #1 I gotta give it to angel dust. OMLLL do I even have to explain? Angel is such an amazing character. From his design to his accent to his personalality he doesn't have a single flaw in my eyes. He's been through so much yet he can still smile and laugh and have fun and I love that about him. I feel like you gave a lot of the characters good spots the only character that I would move down would be the main character Charlie because I’m not one of those like people who are like kids like one of those adults, but still the one who you gave the best spot I find was alastor because he’s a mysterious character. He’s good to design. His songs are amazing but I feel like you should move up Emily a little higher once we move more into the series because she’s honestly a great character and the song you didn’t know absolutely fire.
I had a f*cking brain aneurism trying to read this. L opinion on Charlie too, she is the only one that brings positivity to this show (except Emily) which is very heavily needed for the story it’s trying to tell.
Going in I was expecting to not think much of Sir Pentious, thinking he'd just be there to act pathetic, cliche and make others look good. But after watching the season he's probably become my favorite character. Not only is his character arc among the most compelling in the series, but he is also shockingly excellent comic relief.
Personally I think Velvette is above Vox, both in intellect and capability. Maybe not in booksmarts but she's repeatedly shown that she prioritizes playing the game over her own vices. That she was *willing* to ally with the other overlords including Alastor who she knows Vox despises to take the fight to Heaven. Now this is more an inference based on when she presents the angel's head that she or Vox figured out the extermination was moved up as a reprisal. Also her needling had a point in Respectless, she figured out that Carmilla was likely responsible and that she was resisting war with Heaven she was the chief opponent to overcome when rallying the overlords. Admittedly she failed but it shows a shrewd cunning I'm excited to see more of.
Fan Theory: Lilith is the one who owns Alistor. She left hell because she was sick of it, and wanted to go to heaven. Idk how she got in. Probably gave the OK to let the exterminations speed up or something. But she knew Charlie needed to be protected as well as needed help with the hotel, so Lilith made a deal with Alistor that he would be Charlies caretaker in exchange for something. Which might also explain why he is so dismissive of Lucifer. If his role as caretaker is taken away, his deal is void and he'd end up in some situation where he'd be totally screwed.
Mimsy actually contributed a lot, for those that didn’t see the pilot she explains Alastor, then put side of the Alastor kicking her out of the hotel shows that Husk was right about her, along with developing Husk as someone who is clever, then also pushing Husk to reveal Alastor has a contract. Then on top of that Alastor kicking her out unless she wants to be redeemed was a big point.
Zestial despite having very little screen time has got to be my favorite character! His design, voice, and overall presence as the oldest overlord is so intriguing. I have a bit of theory that Zestial is the overlord of intelligence/knowledge. Overlords can become overlords by having dominion over a certain industry in hell. My theory is that Zestial deals in information. He stresses "not acting without more intelligence" during the overlord meeting scene and has a spider motif throughout his design which could be tied to a "web of knowledge". Of course all of this is just my brain hyper fixating on my favorite character lol. There is a good chance I'm wrong given how little we've seen of him. I want to see more of him in season two so badly! Other than Zestial though my favorites are Charlie, Alastor, Lucifer, and Rosie! :)

Without Val, there’s no Angel Dust. His bitchy and petty personality also suits him a lot for his role imo, his design is great too! The moth wings and squeaks he makes are very detailed. I also experienced a situation similar to Val’s. In both spectrums; that being abused and abuser. I can say with accuracy, he is portrayed very well and was put a lot of thought on as a character, both visually, and purposefully.

Alastor has been the favorite character before I watched any of the episodes his character design and voice alone is insane I mean I don’t know what it is about his radio sound but he only becomes a better character as the show goes on and you learn so many interesting things about him while only have even more questions he was just made to be a fan favorite
The best part about Niffty ripping off Val's fur is that isn't even a coat. She made him instantly regret being anywhere near associated with her with that one act.
In my opinion sir pentious is just damn halarious and the fact that he went from a pilot villain to get beat up on to being redeemed into heaven is just awesome! He’s definitely my favorite character. Oh and his antics with Cherri are just gold

Top three in order for me, I gotta give husk #3, he's such a great character with a lot of charm and love to offer. Plus HUSKERDUST DUHHH‼️ #2 for me is definitely Lucifer. Jeez just from the moment he came in screen with his rubber duck invention I absolutely ADORED HIMMM! He's so sweet and he gets awkward really easy. He's also iconic yet so relatable! And finally #1 I gotta give it to angel dust. OMLLL do I even have to explain? Angel is such an amazing character. From his design to his accent to his personalality he doesn't have a single flaw in my eyes. He's been through so much yet he can still smile and laugh and have fun and I love that about him. Honestly Valentino is such a good charecter, yes, certainly one of the most evil, but the fact that everyone recognises that and hates him, that is brilliant writing skills on the writers part. They made him to be evil and hated, he is evil and hated, he is perfect.

I feel like you gave a lot of the characters good spots the only character that I would move down would be the main character Charlie because I’m not one of those like people who are like kids like one of those adults, but still the one who you gave the best spot I find was alastor because he’s a mysterious character. He’s good to design. His songs are amazing but I feel like you should move up Emily a little higher once we move more into the series because she’s honestly a great character and the song you didn’t know absolutely fire.

Going in I was expecting to not think much of Sir Pentious, thinking he'd just be there to act pathetic, cliche and make others look good. But after watching the season he's probably become my favorite character. Not only is his character arc among the most compelling in the series, but he is also shockingly excellent comic relief.

Personally I think Velvette is above Vox, both in intellect and capability. Maybe not in booksmarts but she's repeatedly shown that she prioritizes playing the game over her own vices. That she was *willing* to ally with the other overlords including Alastor who she knows Vox despises to take the fight to Heaven.
Now this is more an inference based on when she presents the angel's head that she or Vox figured out the extermination was moved up as a reprisal. Also her needling had a point in Respectless, she figured out that Carmilla was likely responsible and that she was resisting war with Heaven she was the chief opponent to overcome when rallying the overlords.
Admittedly she failed but it shows a shrewd cunning I'm excited to see more of.

Fan Theory: Lilith is the one who owns Alistor. She left hell because she was sick of it, and wanted to go to heaven. Idk how she got in. Probably gave the OK to let the exterminations speed up or something. But she knew Charlie needed to be protected as well as needed help with the hotel, so Lilith made a deal with Alistor that he would be Charlies caretaker in exchange for something.
Which might also explain why he is so dismissive of Lucifer. If his role as caretaker is taken away, his deal is void and he'd end up in some situation where he'd be totally screwed.
Lucifer should be super S tier!!!!

Mimsy actually contributed a lot, for those that didn’t see the pilot she explains Alastor, then put side of the Alastor kicking her out of the hotel shows that Husk was right about her, along with developing Husk as someone who is clever, then also pushing Husk to reveal Alastor has a contract. Then on top of that Alastor kicking her out unless she wants to be redeemed was a big point.

Zestial despite having very little screen time has got to be my favorite character! His design, voice, and overall presence as the oldest overlord is so intriguing. I have a bit of theory that Zestial is the overlord of intelligence/knowledge. Overlords can become overlords by having dominion over a certain industry in hell. My theory is that Zestial deals in information. He stresses "not acting without more intelligence" during the overlord meeting scene and has a spider motif throughout his design which could be tied to a "web of knowledge". Of course all of this is just my brain hyper fixating on my favorite character lol. There is a good chance I'm wrong given how little we've seen of him. I want to see more of him in season two so badly! Other than Zestial though my favorites are Charlie, Alastor, Lucifer, and Rosie! :)

@@POETIE_CORE yeah, it’s exactly what they say in the video: Valentino is a vile and disgusting creature, but that’s also his role, and he does it dexterously without fail. Without Val, there’s no Angel Dust. His bitchy and petty personality also suits him a lot for his role imo, his design is great too! The moth wings and squeaks he makes are very detailed. I also experienced a situation similar to Val’s. In both spectrums; that being abused and abuser. I can say with accuracy, he is portrayed very well and was put a lot of thought on as a character, both visually, and purposefully.
