The instructions for my brush said to massage 2/3 of the bristles. I don’t completely understand. So, does it want me to leave ⅓ of the brush close to the base of the handle glued in order to keep the bristles tightly together? Confused.. lol
By the way very nice voice. Very soothing

Hi Lee, great you got your ink brush! Yes, depending on the type of bristles on your brush, if the bristles are not super hard then you should be able to open them by giving them a gentle massage. However, not forcing but just open whatever that your brush can naturally loosen. Then place it into fresh water to remove the glue.
Yes, the 2/3 from the top of the brush and leave the base. Good luck with your brush and enjoy the painting ^_^

Are you supposed to separate the bristles every time?

Hi there. Yes, if you have a brand new Chinese/Japanese brush, the bristles should be gluded togehter with a fine tip, and that's why we need to prepare the brush before use it.I hope you enjoy your ink brush journey ^_^
