I bought one for my wife, and after trying it with volkl cyclone 16 black, I am seriously considering keeping it for myself

The Instinct line overall is pretty underrated... normally I play with more control oriented rackets, but I've got a Youtek Instinct MP that I bring out from time to time and I'd almost call it a guilty pleasure racket - it's still quite comfortable to hit with, the free power is super fun on serve and groundstrokes, and I still feel like I can take a full swing at the ball and not have to worry about it going long.

Yeah, but head had sponsorized instinct line so bad, are quite nicer on the arm then pure drive

The best ever Instinct (for me anyway) was the original MIA gold Liquidmetal Instinct with it’s dense 18x19 stringbed. It didn’t even have the MP designation on its first release, and the extended pro-stock PT161 version became Gasquet’s long term stick. Targeted at the high intermediate-advanced player bracket, it had comfortable flex (RA 63) and outstanding feel. Good control, but with decent free power when needed, it was a slightly less demanding version of the LM Radical MP. I wish HEAD would do a re-release of that one!
The current 360+ Instinct is so far removed from its LM roots that it isn’t a true descendent of the original anymore.

Same. That and the Wilson blade ncode are my favorite racquets I’ve ever played with.

spot on comment, that original LM instinct was a superb stick. carried me through my highschool career beautifully

I wondered if Yonex had some say regs the shape of that gold LM Instinct.
Very very good frame. Good enough for Agassi to try in matches!
I'd love to try one again.

@@jamestennis No idea if Yonex had intellectual property issues with the LM Instinct that had a rather rectangular head shape. However, if they did, it didn’t keep HEAD from retaining that hoop shape through FXP and Microgel.
Things changed substantially for the Instinct with YT when it lost the dense 18x19 stringbed and became positioned at the more power oriented, game improvement end of the HEAD line up where it remains today.
And yes, AA did try the racquet in several tournaments! Thanks for the reminder!

I haven't hit with anything that even resembles my trusty LM Instinct tour XL, a plain ball punisher! Incredibly hard to move on

The innegra, liquidmetal and graphenext instincts were some of the best racquets ever made with the graphenext being my racquet of choice. After graphenext they just do not cut it from an advanced player standpoint. Head is going in positive directions with all their lines, but the instincts have severely regressed from what they were and where they stood in the market.

Hi. Can you tell the difference between this model and previous 2019 model of instinct?

How does it compare to the Extreme MP?

Thanks, this might just be what I was looking for. It does have that Wilson Profile sound that I like. I was going to get the Yonex Vcore 100.

That one looks like it could be one of the better tweeners out there; much lower RA than the PD or Ultra. Speaking of Ultras, I think you should review the 16x19 version of the Ultra Pro if you get the chance, you'll really like that one Jonas!

Was looking at the specs. Seems a bit too whippy, might give me tennis elbow.

    • @FirestarG1
      @FirestarG1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Whippy as in flexible frames do the opposite. Flexible racquets are better for your arm, more stuff racquets hurt arms more and are more prone to five tennis elbow. Or do you mean too light? If so you can just add weight

@@atennisplayer6887 Try adding 1g of lead tape in the head at 3 & 9 o'clock and 1g in the handle. Just keep adding layers. The 1/4 inch lead tape is better as you get uniform load distribution.
