Many only got opportunity for basic education as they were raised only to be sent off after marriage to boy's home. Girls were kept inside homes and taught house chores. Things have changed today thanks to more awareness and more education but a small percentage is still there. So the father taking making the decision to teach his girls wrestling was truly everything against the society stood for at that time. And remember it takes lots of sacrifices to be a world class player specifically if you come from poor economic background.
