Thanks .... Great straight forward video. After you practice many times it will become 2nd nature. While flying you are always looking for a place to land.
I purchased a single seater Mosquito Helicopter, built it at the factory and now I'm taking my recommended training in a two seater "R22". I've always enjoyed watching your training videos and was always hoping in the back of my mind, that I could get to Canada and take lessons from you. That of course, hasn't happened thus far but it doesn't stop me from wishing. I'm approaching my 4th hour of flight time and I've got to tell ya....if it wasn't for the encouragement my instructor kept giving me during my first flight hour, I would have put a for sale sign in the window of mine! I don't think people realize the amount of training it takes to fly these things safely and effectively! Thank you again.....for taking the time to help all of us...from "BP" (Baby Pilot) to the Seasoned ones!!
Thank you for making some great GA videos on helicopters! You check all the boxes for a good video. Mounted, non-shaky good quality cameras, good audio, and a plan on what you want to show people. I hope all the time and effort you put into these videos pays off and is rewarding for you!
Haha I don't think anything would be calm if it really happened but at least if you know what to do you can react as quickly and appropriately as possible. Thanks, I'm glad you liked the video. It's always awesome to hear people's feedback.
Thank you fir this video brother its very helpful, can you also do a video for the torque indicator, and also with the gearboxes pressure and temperature indicators. Thank you so much. May GOD bless you and keep safe brother.
I've never flown a helicopter myself (been a passenger in a 206B though!) so it's very interesting to know what all the dials do. I imagine with the piston engine there's far fewer dials than a turbine? Another great video 👍🏼😎
That's a great idea. Maybe I'll wait until the Guimbal arrives and then I'll do it on that. I think a lot of people would really enjoy seeing the start procedures on one of those.
Hey Mark, that's fantastic to hear. Where do you live? Are you in Canada? I will be doing a start up procedure video soon. I've done a real basic one in one of my videos but I'll do an official one some time soon.
Hi Misch, Nah I live in Sunny Sunshine Coast Queensland Australia. I have a friend who is a Helo' pilot in Canada. I think he was flying in and out of the snow fields?? I have a dream of building an Aviation Company here and teaching people how to fly, but as cheap as i can make it, that way anyone can learn to conquer their dream. Love you stuff keep up the great work
Hey Misch great explanation as always. Is there any real chance of over speeding the rotors in the flare on an autorotation? how fast are they allowed to go?
HappyCamper yes there is a real chance to overspeed. Depending on the helicopter and how heavily loaded you are. There is always an allowable tolerance that you can go up to but it is something that we monitor in the flare. We can always raise a little collective if we need to.
I can C you have cut things out of your intercom and I am one of the most different pilots ever brought to earth I never flown one but I no how to and one of you has got very close to me did you land in Toowoomba one of you should do it any way have a good one
Hello ! Very lucid explanations ! Question: How much time do you have between onset of tail rotor failure and engine shutoff? In other words, how fast should you react? Thanks Suresh France
It kind of depends on what state of flight you are in. If you are in forward flight or in the hover, or slow flight. If you are in full forward flight you have a fair bit of time because there is a lot of keel affect on the helicopter. However if you are in the hover you have less than a second to react if you want to get the helicopter down to the ground without spinning around too much.
Through the movies we were taught to shoot the Trail rotor to take down a helicopter. I don't know if I could Pilot because of NOTS. Every time the wife would say NOT the fight was on.
Is there any. auto pilot for helicopters If no then how is helicopter move in stable altitude Also how does helicopter with wheels different from without wheels ?)
Pilot Yellow thanks for reply Your two videos explaining basic navigation and instruments were fabulous . Can helicopters navigate during night time means in complete darkness like forest /sea without night vision Can you pls do some video explaining basic parts of which helicopter is made and with their location and it’s use and how transmission of power from engine to two two rotors and if possible basic preventive maintenance schedule Thanks bro
Henry from Asia raining at night is hard. You don't have as much visibility. Also it's hard to see where the clouds are. Flying at night is no problem though without rain.
Thanks .... Great straight forward video. After you practice many times it will become 2nd nature.
While flying you are always looking for a place to land.
thanks for posting these training oriented videos, quite informative and helpful.

Pony Express Motorcycle Couriers that’s awesome, I’m glad you didn’t give up. It gets easier every day.
Awesome thanks for addressing my question about the tail rotor too!
You bet my pleasure.

Wow! Thanks for the tail rotor fail emergency procedure.
Fantastic explanation of Tail rotor failure. Very insightful and descriptive.
You made the whole emergency sound very calm and safe.
Well done

Thankyou for the video. very nice information about helicopter especially about autorotation.
Very informative. Thank you sir for posting.
thanks a lot the explanation is well done. I now start understanding helicopters.
Thank you fir this video brother its very helpful, can you also do a video for the torque indicator, and also with the gearboxes pressure and temperature indicators. Thank you so much. May GOD bless you and keep safe brother.
Thank you for the awesome explanation
5:54 "Clutch and magneto switches, nothing too serious there..." 😃
Amazing video, learned allot.
Brilliant videos!
Ben Horner thanks man
This is the video that finally made me subscribe.
That's awesome to hear.

Yes a turbine has a few more things to be looking at. Not too much more though.
Thanks for the great videos!
you have such nice quality videos! love following you:)
lovemysister09 wow thanks so much. That's really awesome that you like them so much.
Is there a instrument or overhead device in the cockpit? If yes , what is it for?
Thank you Very much for Your explanation , until next vídeo
Thanks
Does that visor not impair his vision for surrounding air traffic?
Pilot 👨✈️ Yellow: Don’t You Think 🤔 a MD-520N NOTAR System Would Be BEST, or a MD-900N Sir?
Cool
Just an idea for another video. Would love to see the start up procedure for a helicopter. The steps taken from completely off to ready to fly.
That's a great idea. Maybe I'll wait until the Guimbal arrives and then I'll do it on that. I think a lot of people would really enjoy seeing the start procedures on one of those.
Would love to see a startup procedure for the Guimbal.
Also because of my research and your videos i will be buying a Cabri 2 as my first helicopter.

I have an unhealthy obsession with these videos
What's the music at the outro? Sounds really addictive!

any Torque indicator for the helicopter like this..?
3:08 Me in 2020: Oh, that's Corona. Distance yourself at least to 2 meters.

Does the Guimbal Cabri G2 give you the option of switching off the governor & maintaining the engine rpm yourself?
Afrocanuk yes you have a switch you can flick off.
Flying a helicopter, the gauge that will concern me the most will be the engine/main-rotor rpm indicator.
What kind of head gear does he have on. It looks kind of akward.
PY: Do you use xplane for ground school so a student is more familiar with the lesson before real world practise?
No we don't use any simulators. The real thing is much better.
Through the movies we were taught to shoot the Trail rotor to take down a helicopter. I don't know if I could Pilot because of NOTS. Every time the wife would say NOT the fight was on.
What about a run on landing with tail rotor failure?
Perfeito.
Thank G-d.
Is there any. auto pilot for helicopters
If no then how is helicopter move in stable altitude
Also how does helicopter with wheels different from without wheels ?)
ytmail1000 yes some helicopters have autopilot. If you don’t have it the pilot has to maintain the altitude. Helicopters with wheels fly much faster.
Pilot Yellow thanks for reply

Taliban watching this right now
Sir can you please say that
Can helicopter fly at?
can helicopter fly while raining?
Yes helicopters can fly while it's raining no problem.
and at night?
Henry from Asia raining at night is hard. You don't have as much visibility. Also it's hard to see where the clouds are. Flying at night is no problem though without rain.
Pilot Yellow thanks for all the information you are really great. thank you once again
were is the torque indicator ?
amir lavi it’s a piston helicopter. It has a MP gauge not torque.
I learned something new, Thanks.
and Happy new year from israel !
